There are low cost therapy options available. Counselling is a talking therapy which helps you work through any problems you may be experiencing. As a counsellor I am there to help you deal with and overcome the issues that are causing emotional distress, by working together in a safe, empathic & confidential environment. Throughout the counselling sessions we will work on and talk about your thoughts and feelings as this can help you gain a better understanding of what you may be experiencing. The aim is for us to work together in order for you to identify your own problems & solutions, this is a non-directive form of counselling which means I am lead by you the client, as to what you want to talk about. It may be challenging and cause distress at times as you could be dealing with issues that you may not have ever discussed with anyone else. This can be a difficult process, and you may not notice any changes for a number of sessions. However, with commitment you are more likely to benefit from therapy. I will provide a safe, supportive, friendly and confidential space where you can discuss anything which is causing you distress or simply need somebody impartial to talk issues through with. Some people find that it can be a relief to share their feelings in a confidential environment where they will not be judged. I have worked with children for over 14 years and adults who are experiencing various issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, bullying, bereavement, depression, low mood, abuse, coercive control, childhood issues and much more.

When you confront a narcissist, they often respond with anger, denial, deflection, or blame-shifting, because accountability threatens the fragile self-image they work hard to protect.

You lose yourself when:
• You stay silent because you’re afraid of their reaction.
• You start normalizing disrespectful or manipulative behavior.
• You shrink your voice to keep the peace.
• You begin doubting your own perceptions or feelings.
• You prioritize their comfort over your own boundaries.

When a narcissist get called out their reaction —especially if their ego, behavior, or lies are exposed—it often triggers a strong emotional reaction. Because narcissists rely heavily on maintaining control, admiration, and a positive self-image (their “narcissistic supply”), being confronted threatens their fragile sense of self
Their reaction can be
1. Rage – Explosive anger or insults to regain dominance.
2. Silent treatment – Withdrawing to punish or manipulate.
3. Gaslighting – Denying or twisting facts to make you doubt yourself.
4. Playing the victim – Flipping the blame to gain sympathy.
5. Charm or hoovering – Acting kind or apologetic to pull you back in.
6. Smear campaign – Attacking your reputation to protect theirs.
7. Collapse (rare) – Feeling shame or depression if their image truly crumbles.
