πŸ” What exactly is an EHCP? πŸ€”

πŸ“‘ An Education, Health and Care Plan is a legal document that sets out the support a child or young person with special educational needs must receive. It covers education, health and social care – and most importantly, it’s legally enforceable.

✍️ You don’t necessarily need a school or doctor to apply for an EHCP assessment. A parent or carer can make a request directly to the local authority – and it’s free. However it is more common place that a school will make an application on behalf of the child with the parent's consent and involvement.

Need help getting started? We have resources that walk you through the whole process πŸ‘‡
