🔍 What exactly is an EHCP? 🤔

📑 An Education, Health and Care Plan is a legal document that sets out the support a child or young person with special educational needs must receive. It covers education, health and social care – and most importantly, it’s legally enforceable.

✍️ You don’t necessarily need a school or doctor to apply for an EHCP assessment. A parent or carer can make a request directly to the local authority – and it’s free. However it is more common place that a school will make an application on behalf of the child with the parent's consent and involvement.
