All week, through Have You Heard?, we’ve been starting conversations about ear and hearing health and the reality of hearing loss.

Together with our partners and practitioner network, we’re encouraging people across the UK and beyond to take that first step towards getting their ears and hearing health checked.

Hearing loss affects millions of people, yet it’s often overlooked or accepted as something to “put up with”. The truth is, early action can make a real difference - to communication, confidence and overall wellbeing.

As World Hearing Day approaches, it’s a reminder of our mission at TympaHealth: to help make professional ear and hearing health more accessible.

It helps amplify that message, but the conversation doesn’t end there. Join us in raising awareness and prioritising ear and hearing health, not just on one day, but every day.

I’ve had a number of cases now where clients have sadly been ignored by ‘health professionals’ when they have reported incidences of fluid leaking from their ear(s)!

One had a permanent rupture that required surgery to repair it. Another was bleeding from his ear after rupturing it on a water slide. A third is awaiting surgery after chronic infection has deformed the bones that conduct sound behind the eardrum.

All of the above were able to obtain an urgent referral for the care they needed, thanks to me having instant access to NHS trained Audiologists and ENT Consultants.

Never ignore fluid leaking from your ears, the consequences can be devastating.

I have treated several clients over the years who had lost their sense of smell. Some due to Covid and others persistent sinus infections. I recently had a client whom I treated with Infrared, Acupuncture and Cosmodic therapy. After his first treatment his sense of smell returned and his need of decongestants and nasal douching was virtually zero after week 3.

I didn’t write an end of year post - I left that to everyone else. Not to say my clients were not happy because they were.

Several clients were referred to Ear, Nose and Throat consultants due to serious issues. One is facing micro surgery to save the remainder of her hearing.

Don’t take your hearing for granted. It’s not!!!
