Opportunity from Andrew Yiu and Katie Simister
Digital Surgery Collaborative & Imperial College London
We are writing to invite you to take part in a 30-minute interview on ‘Patient and public views on routine surgical video recording’, conducted over Microsoft Teams or over the phone. We have secured funding to reimburse you for your time.
We are interested in exploring your views on patient consent for surgical video recording, and its further use for surgical quality assurance, education, training, and research (including for creating new digital technologies such as artificial intelligence-based tools). This will build upon some of the ideas within the questionnaire you completed in September. We hope that the results of this study will allow us to develop standards for consenting patients in the future and will direct ongoing research into surgical video use.
Your contribution is greatly valued and will provide a critically important insight to the project. Interviews will be audio recorded for transcription and analysis purposes but will be fully anonymised. After this has been completed, the recording will be deleted, and it will no longer be possible to withdraw from this study. Interviews will last for a maximum of 30-minutes, and you will be reimbursed £17.50 for your time.
We are also looking for public/patient representatives to be involved in the planning, design, and delivery of our surgical video research. If this interests you, please let us know and we would be happy to discuss a role as a co-applicant within our research group.
Please use the link below to book an interview slot, and do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Thank you for signing up to participate in this 30 minute interview for our project aiming to establishing patient priorities in the implementation of routine surgical video recording. The interview will consist of approximately 10 questions. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any
