Spring is definitely here. Are you ready?

Days are longer and the air is infused with fresh Yang (& young!) energy!

I will be joining to offer a Spring Yoga day on 22nd March in Ilkley.

I will share concepts and exercises to facilitate the body-mind to stay in harmony with nature and to flow with this seasonal energy into the coming year with ease.

Julia will lead yoga practice, yoga nidra, bringing it into creativity and manifestation.

See Julia’s Eventbrite page to book or for more information.

Heart Sutra, is a scripture that most Buddhists would memorise by heart. I memorised it and recite it often since age 16.

This scripture is one of the most significant, as with Diamond Sutra, and has the most versions of translation in Chinese language.

The most widely recited version was translated in the 7th century by a Buddhist monk called XuanZang (玄奘) who rode a white horse from ChangAn 長安 (the ancient capital of China, now called XiAn) to India, to study and bring scriptures back to China.

The journey took him 7 years and was later written into the famous fiction of Monkey Magic.

His version of translation is most beautiful in literary sense and very succinct, only consists of 260 characters.

Since age 16, for tens of years, I recite and study it, secretively wishing one day I will really understand it and have direct experience during this lifetime.

The most precious gift of last year was to come across Helen’s teaching , that I realise this is possible.

Indeed, I am, and we are all already free. 🙏

3 magic herbs for the best tonic in winter:

- DangGui 當歸 (Angelica root): Blood tonic
- HongZao 紅棗 (Jujuba): Qi tonic
- GoJi 枸杞 (goji berries): Deficiency tonic

They are reliable building blocks to nourish the body and yet easily accessible. You should be able to get hold them in most Chinese supermarkets in this country.

In the part of Asia I came from, they are often used as soup base and can be served as part of the meal.

When I was brewing them today, the aroma reminded of my mother, the cold winter days and the satisfying warm feeling in the tummy…

“You are already free” … like lightening in the depth of a dark night.

Thank you for helping me see, and know that I never left Oneself.

The seeker can now cease seeking 🙏

“Last night’s dream is my teacher, is it the same for you?” - Milarepa

A day of contemplation on Emptiness and finding the Inner Light of Wisdom. Thank you for the teaching, cultivating environment, wonderful learning companions and volunteers.

What a hidden gem and oasis in the middle of the busy centre of Leeds.

Seeing what’s on the wall of an independent shop in Corn Exchange before the class… I know this was all meant to be!

So grateful to be able to contribute to this great book by my friend and colleague, Mark Popplewell, who is an acupuncturist, herbalist, Tai Chi practitioner and teacher for over 40 years.

“Slow down and get fit!
Does exercise really need to be fast and strenuous
or can we get fit, stay healthy and gain inner peace by moving slowly in the park?”

Mark with his expanded experience and knowledge in Chinese Medicine and Tai Chi explains the philosophy and principles of Tai Chi, beyond relieving pain, improving balance and health.

He has a YouTube channel and teaches in Dewsbury.

Autumn is a season of the Metal Element, in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), corresponding to the Lung and Large Intestine. The Element governs the skin, opens through the nose.

Autumn is the best time to work with health issues related to these systems, including respiratory, lower digestive and skin complaints. In view of TCM, these health issues are very much inter-related and should be treated as a whole picture.

Harvest and store what serves you, and let go of what doesn’t, in preparation of the coming months of total self-care and restoration.

Feel free to get in touch and relax into the flow.

“To nurture is to be able to see, accept and love what is, without the need or desire to change it into something else.” *

How often do I nurture myself ?
What stops me doing that as often as all the time?
Am I living my authentic Self?

Meditating in this beautiful courtyard in an Airbnb in Vancouver where the owner left this lovely book out on the coffee table.

Be and let be!

The distance is counting down quicker each day. 8 days later, I am coming to my last day on Camino !

Last night was a special experience staying in a monastery, Mass before pilgrims dinner cooked by volunteers.

I will stay present every step of the way today and every moment of everyday.

A meditative coffee tasting session in a Buddhist temple on the second day of the Lunar New Year in my hometown in Taiwan.

A beautiful session, full of senses, calmness and compassion.

The beans are from high altitude in Nepal, a remote area with schools and monasteries supported by the temple.

The second brew was made with coffee beans placed in the singing bowl, rang by everyone, before being prepared. The brew tasted very different, harmonious and peaceful.

This was a fully booked event and the synchronicity had it that someone cancelled at the last minute that I had the opportunity to participate in it.

Happy New Year!
