๐ŸงกToday's session is all about the monkey mind and how he likes to jump from thought to thought.

๐Ÿ’™ I introduced the monkey and demonstrated mindful breathing exercises to help control our monkey mind. I guided the children through a monkey mind mediation where the children focused on giving the monkey the job of the anchor and focussing on their breathing and mindful listening.

๐Ÿ’š The children had fun creating their very own face monkey which they can use as a guided tool to help with their monkey mind ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿงก๐ŸŒˆ.

This week's theme was around jelousy ๐Ÿ’š.

We spoke about what it feels like and what emotions come to visit and how we can overcome this.
The children then designed their very own green eyed monster!

These paper mood plates went down a treat with the children!
I showed them how the westher can represent our emotions at times and the children can then point the arrow to the weather they are feeling.
If they are feeling angry, sad or anxious, the children can practice their mindful breathing and choose something to do that lights them up ๐ŸŒž.

This week's session with the children was all about the Worry monster ๐Ÿค–.

We discussed how a worry may feel in our bodies and what it does.

We named 5 people that we could tell when we have a worry as this helps release the worry along with their mindful breathing exercises.

I used the rock apology to help explain how worries can get bigger If we don't do something with them.

This week's lesson was all about "Everything belongs".
I explained to the children that all feelings are OK and although some are uncomfortable, it's still on to feel how you are feeling. Everyone feels like this at some point and feelings come.and fo.
We learned how to be kind to ourselves and others and ways to help make these feelings go away.

The children drew there own hearts and wrote the feeling they felt that day.

Letting go of things you can't control, dwelling on past mistakes, comparing yourself to others, or feeling anxious about the future can be difficult for any of us.

Focussing on the present moment, practising self-compassion and gratitude can help release and let go of these thoughts.

Last weeks sessions were all about letting go of our thoughts which helps them understand that thoughts come and go, and they don't have to hold onto or belive every thought that enters their mind.

I introduced mindful breathing exercises to help with this process and we talked about our feelings and how they effect our bodies.
I guided them through a letting go of meditation, and the children designed their own letting go hot air balloon ๐ŸŽˆ

This week's lessons were about " Everything belongs" and that all feelings are OK.

Practicing mindfulness can help us accept and navigate our feelings in a healthier way.
By being present in the moment and observing our thoughts and emotions without judgment, we can develop a greater sense of self-awareness and emotional resilience. Mindfulness encourages us to acknowledge our feelings without getting caught up in them, which can lead to greater peace and well-being.

Children may suppress their emotions for various reasons, such as feeling ashamed or not knowing how to express themselves effectively.
As adults, it's crucial to create a supportive environment where children feel safe to express their feelings openly. Encouraging open communication, validating their emotions, and teaching healthy coping strategies can help children learn to manage their emotions in a constructive manner rather than suppressing them.

This week's lesson was all about "Wishing others well" which means being kind to ourselves and others.

I got the group to complete an activity and write something down that they thought was an act of kindness to themselves or a friend.

Some of the children handed me these cards and said these are for you โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ข.

I asked them what they thought beautiful meant to them?. They said very pretty and so kind.
It really did touch me, but it just goes to show how an act of kindness, no matter how big or small, can impact a meaning in a whole different light.
So if anything, teach your children to be kind, it doesn't cost anything but gives a whole different beautiful ๐Ÿ’•
