Me and my best friend walked 41km (26 miles) yesterday for Alzheimer’s Society. We spoke about resilience and I think I’ve built my resilience this weekend (physically and mentally) a little bit more.
When you push through something hard — a long walk, a tough workout, anything that tests you — you train your body and mind to tolerate discomfort and recover. You’re proving to yourself that you can do hard things and be okay afterwards.
Physically, your body adapts and becomes stronger. Mentally, you build self-belief and provide your brain with evidence that challenges pass and you can handle them.
You can do hard things, get through challenges, and be okay on the other side.
Now, if anyone has any advice for swollen feet covered in blisters, I’d happily listen! 🙄
