I accepted and put on my books a lady who has just had enough of being obese, morbidly obese. A women who was simply fed-up, joint problems; nd with extremely high; blood pressure, cholesterol and prescribrd all kinds of medication - such as statins and antipressants prescribed to her for high blood pressure.
After speaking to her I just got the sense she was just fed-up demotivated and even though middle aged had one thought in her head, 'she needed to and wanted to lose the weight!?'

"I have been a type 2 diabetic for 25 years, and was diagnosed a year ago with non alcoholic fatty liver disease. After researching what diet to follow I found the advice very conflicting has I had 2 conditions. I looked for nutritionists and found Darren on bark. At this point my mental and physical health was at rock bottom. I worked with Darren on slowly changing my diet, so it wasn't too challenging. Being taught what to eat and what effects it was having on my body I have been able to reduce my weight and my continues slowly dropping which is helping me to be more active. Although I haven't done any exercise other than walking about in my day to day life. I was also taught about the importance of food and food plays an important part in your mental health and the importance of relaxation. Although I haven't done any exercise other than walking about in my day to day life. I feel that my body is working much better and that gives me the confidence and motivation to continue has it has helped my mental health a great deal, looking forward to much better health in the future. The results speak for themselves,I am off some of my medication,my blood sugar readings are continuing to fall ,I have had some weight loss and my mental health is much more positive, which is giving me the motivation to be much more active."

Welcome I’m Darren Wilkinson and Founder of Be Fit For Life.
Hello,
In my career I have been fortunate to have helped a great many people overcome numerous obstacles that have hindered them from become healthier and fitter. The difficulties and obstacles have ranged from fatigue, aches and pains, pulled and strained muscles, and some with deeper psychological problems like depression, and lack of appetite whilst being diagnosed with; diabetes type 2; Coronary heart disease; obesity; Atherosclerosis, stroke, or Arthritis and other debilitating conditions and diseases. The more common issues have also been seen such as clients having; knee problems; injuries; weak joints; lathery; and having poor diets. There have also been on occasion a combination of the two and also more commonly due to been afflicted with a disease or condition that has contributed and exacerbated their disease or condition with picking up another problem or witnessing another obstacle as a result of their disease, or condition.
My clients have generally either walked into the gym that I have been working in, or I have been approached, and most commonly I have had the pleasure of working for them by friend referrals. My services have had appealed to them as they wanted to become healthier, and fitter but lacked the necessary knowledge, or in most instances apprehensive or been intimidated due to their condition or illness. My clients understood after talking to me that their present state of health did not need to be so debilitating and with some practical guidance and positive reassurance their circumstances could change for the better. I believe their present state of mind was the key to initiating such a dramatic change in their lives.
Recently, I obtained my BSc Nutrition degree in social sciences. The core subjects of the degree are built up of Physiology, Nutrition and Biochemistry, nutrition being under pinned by many processes of Physiology and Biochemistry. Subjects that are taught through-out the degree expand from core principal sciences to understanding many of the illnesses and conditions people suffer from; such as, Cancers, Diabetes, Coronary heart disease, malnutrition; psychological barriers, Vitamin deficiencies etc. The curriculum covers in great detail diseases and conditions such as; diabetes type 2; Coronary heart disease; Cardiovascular disease i.e. strokes and Atherosclerosis, hypertension and Obesity and other dissimilating conditions and diseases.
My desire and passion to better myself has never wavered especially when realising my knowledge was very limiting when I was a Personal Trainer. Thus, was pre-requisite for going back to college and achieving my G.C.S. E’s and A levels in order to advance on to a nutrition degree. Although my abilities lacked depth when being in a position to initially speak to people, (when I was a trainer) I had to ask myself are you willing to go back to school and educate yourself? In order to be able to be able to make a significant impact and help people that needed a certain kind of expertise and guidance in order to change their present state of health?
I knowingly feel I’m able to make a significant difference and want to help people less fortunate that are in need of the help I am qualified to offer.
My present circumstances are that I work with clients on a contract basis in at Core fitness (downstairs) in the Park First building. I do not have any specific working hours as I tailor my work to the client’s availability, and this can be during unsociable hours. I begin work at 05.00 and will accommodate potential clients that need later in the day, as am indeed flexible to potential offers that may require this.
