What to expect if you need nail surgery at the clinic .
No referral required from GP
Once we have made a decision and treatment plan , we book you in at a time to suit you . We make sure that you have all your pre surgery plans ready and that you understand the recovery and healing process.
On the day we recommend that you eat prior to your appointment. Under local anaesthetic this is allowed and recommended to keep your blood glucose levels up to avoid fainting and feeling sick.
We check your medication and make sure that the medication that is safe to take before surgery that day you do take , and that which is recommended to delay before surgery is also . We seek written and verbal informed consent from you .
In clinic after you are prepared we make sure you are comfortable and we can offer you aroma therapy oils to help you relax and a choice of music 🎶 or spa / classical music to make it a positive experience.
Once we have administered anaesthetic and we are happy as are you that you are numb the surgery proceeds . We never rush and we always allow plenty of time kindness and patience if you are nervous.
Once the surgery is complete we write up our clinical notes and give you all the post operative aftercare instructions. We make appointments for your dressing changes and give you access to out of hours clinic numbers for your safety and reassurance.
During recovery we take good care of you till we are happy to discharge you .
The surgery may be a full or a partial nail avulsion depending on clinical need , rest assured we give the best advice for your treatment plan and aesthetic appearance afterwards .
We offer this as a complete package after initial consultation and we may use as part of that plan our class 4 medical lasers to help promote and heal .
