Strong, supported, symptom free.
Let's keep it that way.

Our pelvic floor is influenced by so many factors we don’t always see or feel - pregnancy, birth, menopause and ongoing hormonal changes throughout the life cycle. These shifts can affect muscle tone, ligament support, and how tissues recover, often long before symptoms appear. Think of how tissues in other parts of your body have changed over the years !

Proactive pelvic health check-ins aren’t just for when things feel “off.” They’re a chance to:
✨ Understand how hormonal changes may be affecting your body
✨ Stay ahead of issues like leaking, heaviness or pain
✨ Build strength and confidence for the future

No symptoms? Amazing. Let’s future-proof that.

🎉 The Pelvic Health Clinic is 1! 🎉

Today marks one whole year since we opened our doors — and what a year it’s been!

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every single person who has walked through the clinic door, trusted me with their care, shared their story, and supported this little clinic to grow. Your kindness, honesty, and commitment to your own health have made this journey so meaningful.

Over the past year, I’ve learned so much — from my patients, from myself, and from the challenges that come with starting something new. Here are just a few reflections:

💭3 Things I’ve Learned From You

💡 Pelvic health is still deeply misunderstood – but when people are given the right space, language, and support, the impact can be life-changing.
💡 Strength looks different for everyone – physically, emotionally, and mentally. Whether you're postpartum, peri-menopausal, or navigating persistent pain, progress is always personal.
💡 People want more than just a quick fix – you want real answers, a deeper understanding of your body, and to feel genuinely heard. And that’s exactly what we offer.

💭 3 Things I’ve Learned About Myself

✨Balance is hard – and owning a clinic while still working clinically and managing life takes constant checking in, stepping back, and adjusting.
✨You don’t need to have it all figured out – progress is messy, and that’s okay. I’ve grown so much by allowing space for imperfection.
✨This work fuels me – supporting people through some of their most vulnerable and powerful life stages has been the biggest privilege.

The year ahead feels incredibly exciting. We have new opportunities on the horizon, exciting collaborations, and even more tools to support your recovery, performance, and long-term health.

To all my patients: thank you for choosing The Pelvic Health Clinic.
Here’s to another year of growth, strength, and pelvic health for all ⭐️

We get asked this a lot, and the answer is always YES 🤍

At The Pelvic Health Clinic, we want to make your care as accessible and stress-free as possible. Whether you’re juggling a newborn, a toddler, or an older child, know that you are always welcome, and so are they.

We’ve had little visitors ranging from 2 weeks to 12 years old, and we totally understand that life is busy, childcare isn’t always an option, and your health shouldn’t have to wait.

You’re welcome to bring a plus one too — whether that’s a partner, friend, or family member — whatever helps you feel more comfortable and supported during your appointment.

Your wellbeing matters, and we’ll always do our best to meet you where you are 💛

Recovery deserves time, care and the right guidance — no matter where you start from ✨

🤰Exercising during pregnancy? Here are 3 things I wish everyone knew 👇

1️⃣ Listen to your body – it’s your best guide
2️⃣ Don’t compare – every pregnancy is unique
3️⃣ Be flexible – it’s OK to adapt and adjust

✅ And yes, evidence shows exercise is safe for mum & baby once adapted appropriately

It can be an overwhelming time with lots of advice out there. I highly recommend ensuring your guidance and supports comes from an appropriately trained professional to support your goals safely, during and after pregnancy 💛
If you are ever unsure, please ASK.

What's been your experience of exercise during pregnancy ?🤰

How many of us once thought that when the stitches were gone, a scar is healed ? A scar takes 2 years to reach maturity and can respond to treatment long after that 🙏

If you can’t look at your own scar, that is ok.
If you feel comfortable looking, can you touch it ?

Scars can have so many knock on effects to the surrounding fascia, muscles & ligaments in our bodies.

We are delighted to have the in clinic to get you the results you deserve 🤍

How do you feel about your scar ?

It’s been such a privilege to support in her postpartum recovery following the birth of her beautiful daughter in October 2024 🏃‍♀️

As an Olympic marathon runner, Steph is no stranger to discipline and dedication—but even elite athletes aren’t exempt from the realities of postpartum rehab.

Recovery after birth looks different for every person. Whether you’re returning to elite competition or simply aiming to feel strong again in your own body, the principles remain: rebuild gradually, honour your individual journey, and put in the work.

Steph has approached her recovery with the same resilience and focus she brings to her training - and it’s been inspiring to witness. No shortcuts, no rushing—just consistent effort, proper rehab, and a whole lot of strength, inside and out.

It’s also been a true team effort, working alongside her S&C coach and her running coach has been a brilliant example of “it takes a village”. Each of us bringing our own piece of the puzzle to help Steph return safely and confidently to the sport she loves.

Here’s to strong women in every chapter of life 💪💛

🏃‍♀️The Truth About Leaking and Running 🏃‍♀️

While leaking is certainly common, it’s not normal—and definitely not something you should just “deal with.”

We know that up to 6️⃣0️⃣% of female runners experience stress urinary incontinence (SUI) during running (International Urogynecology Journal, 2022).

💦 Leaking while running isn’t always a sign of weakness. In fact, you can be one of the strongest athletes out there and still experience it.

So what’s really going on?
🔹 It’s not always about a weak pelvic floor—sometimes, it’s about a pelvic floor that’s too tight or not co-ordianated with the rest of your body

🔹 It’s not just about strength—it’s how your body handles the impact and pressure that comes with running

🔹 Your pelvic floor is connected to a larger musculoskeletal system—when one component isn’t working properly, the entire system can be impacted

The bottom line: you can be an elite athlete, a fast runner, and still experience this. It’s not about “weakness”; it’s about understanding how to manage pressure.

You deserve to understand why it’s happening and what you can do to address It 💪🏻

Always extremely grateful for such wonderful feedback ✨

Sometime all it takes is for someone to really listen to you and your symptoms.

At The Pelvic Health Clinic we take the time to explore all aspects of your health in depth.

(& yes, your pelvic floor could be contributing to that hip and back pain that never seems to get better no matter what you do for it 👀)

Thinking about running after having a baby ? Let’s make sure your body is strong and ready! 🏃‍♀️✨

There is no simple answer to when is “the best time” to return to running. This will differ greatly for everyone and depend on a HUGE range of factors including: type of delivery, postnatal complications, physical and mental well-being and recovery, activity levels pre and during pregnancy, if you are currently experiencing any pelvic floor symptoms, general musculoskeletal strength and function... the list goes on !

In clinic, we assess both pelvic and musculoskeletal function to identify readiness for return to run. As with all rehabilitation, the journey may not always be linear and we need to continue to monitor how your body responds and listen to what it needs.

While the current guidelines suggest 12 weeks as the earliest return, every journey is different—some may start graded impact sooner, while others may need much longer depending on their recovery. A gradual, structured approach can help prevent issues like leaking, heaviness, or pain. 🚫

✔️ A pelvic health physiotherapist can assess your readiness and guide you through rehab tailored to your recovery.
✔️ Building strength, mobility, and impact tolerance first means running stronger, for longer—without setbacks.
✔️ It’s not just about when you return, but how!

Let’s get you back to running safely, confidently, and pain-free 🏃‍♀️💪🏻
