🎳🌿 Garden Bowls & Sunshine Smiles! 🌿🎳

Our lovely residents enjoyed a wonderful morning playing garden bowls in the sunshine yesterday! ☀️

There was laughter, a bit of friendly competition, and plenty of cheer as they showed off their skills and shared stories between turns.

The residents also showed off some cheeky dance moves before each of their turns! Who had the best would you say?👀

It’s moments like these that remind us how special simple joys can be 💚

This month as moment maker, we recognise our Principle Team Leader Donna🥰

Donna goes above and beyond each shift she is here, helping in each and every department as she can. She spends everyday making sure her residents are living their lives to the fullest and are having the best time.

It was lovely to see a big smile on her face when she found out it was the residents and staff who work on Chesters were presenting her with this award!🥳

We all appreciate Donna ever so much and all the hard work, time and effort she puts into making sure her residents are well looked after, safe and having the best time here at the Manor House

Shaun West, Chef Manager from Kingfisher Court was our 2025 Chef of the Year winner. He won with a menu of:

Pan fried mushrooms, madeira garlic cream on homemade toasted bread for starters
Pan fried chicken breast, red wine bacon & mushroom sauce, garlic & thyme roasted baby potatoes, sauteed green beans, roasted carrots for the main meal
White chocolate & raspberry cheesecake with raspberry coulis and a white choc & raspberry shard with burnt white choc crumb.

Shaun was delighted to win, saying:

"Winning the Chef of the Year competition means a lot to me. Lots of hard work and thought went into my menu, and it’s been both a high pressure and enjoyable experience being involved in the competition. I’m very proud of challenging myself and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone."

A massive congratulations to Shaun and all the chefs who competed this year. Also a massive well done to Catering Apprentice Logan Shamim Ahmed of Anchor - Madeleine House who won our Catering Challenge 👏

Residents at Anchor - The Manor House Knaresborough in Yorkshire have been experiencing the magic of having their bucket list dreams turned into reality. Thanks to the home’s dedicated team going above and beyond, the residents’ long-held wishes have come true.

Resident David had always wanted to ride a steam train, and with careful planning, the team at The Manor House Knaresborough were able to make that happen. David enjoyed a scenic train ride across the Yorkshire Dales, with others from the home.

Susan, another resident at The Manor House Knaresborough, was born in Ireland. She always dreamt of returning, so the team brought Ireland to her, transforming the home into a vibrant celebration of Irish culture.

May celebrated her birthday surrounded by her wonderful children, and the residents and staff of the Manor House, where we put on afternoon tea, Vera Lynn and had a jolly good time!🥰

Priors Hall Care Home in Corby recently opened its doors for the latest gathering of its Community Lunch Club - a vibrant afternoon of friendship, food, and shared stories designed to bring together people from across the local area.

The gathering offered a wonderful chance for local neighbours and familiar faces to reconnect. Three Priors Hall residents were especially thrilled to welcome a friend from nearby Priors Hall Park and before the afternoon ended, they exchanged phone numbers to keep in touch beyond the event.

Yesterday morning, we started off the day with a gorgeous flower delivery from Daisy Chain and our home is looking bright and beautiful! 💐

After breakfast we had a beautiful classical music rendition from Kathryn, who is a beautiful harpist and played for all of our residents ✨

Our residents enjoyed the sweet notes of the harp with some sweet treats from our wonderful kitchen🍰

😢 A HEARTFELT GOODBYE 😢

On Friday, we said goodbye to our wonderful activity co-ordinator Chloe who is leaving us for pastures new back down south!

Chloe has been with us since we opened our gorgeous home, and we’re so sad to see her go.😢

Every moment Chloe came to work, she made connections with each and every resident and made each moment for them ever so special. ✨

She worked tirelessly to put on fantastic events for the home - especially our one love party and our fundraiser for St Gemma’s Hospice. 💜

Chloe will be missed by all staff, residents and visitors at the Manor House - we’ve told her not to be a stranger so hopefully when she pops back up north for a visit we will give her the warmest Manor House welcome!🥰

Good Luck Chloe - we will all miss you ever so much. 💗

A HAWAIIAN HURRAH 🌺🍍

Yesterday at The Manor House Roundhay we had a fun-filled Hawaiian themed afternoon! The staff team and residents dressed in bright colours and luau flowers were worn 😁✨️

We kicked the afternoon off with a flying visit from Dottie the Macaw! The residents absolutely loved meeting Dottie and watching her dance! We then had some fantastic live music from Rock Roots Reggie, who got everyone singing and dancing along, and a beautiful Hawiian themed buffet. The residents helped create the menu for our Hawiian feast last week by filling out surveys all about Hawiian foods, which our talented catering team then used to put together a menu full of the residents favourites. 🦜🎶

Never a dull day at The Manor House Roundhay - well done team! 👏❤️

THE MANOR HOUSE IN BLOOM 🌹🫛

Our garden is really coming to life now, and this afternoon residents have sampled home grown sweet peas - they were chuffed with them! 😁👏
