Do you truly feel good enough… without validation from other people?
For many people, that feeling of “not enough” runs deeper than they realise.
It can show up as:
• constantly seeking reassurance
• people pleasing
• overthinking what others think of you
• struggling with imposter syndrome
• being highly self-critical, even when you’re doing your best
Often, these patterns don’t appear out of nowhere.
They can be shaped by childhood experiences, social comparison, perfectionism, past relationships, or an inner critic that has become louder over time.
Over time, we can begin to tie our worth to approval from others rather than how we truly feel about ourselves.
The difficult part is that external validation often only offers temporary relief. The deeper feeling underneath can still remain.
As it’s Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s an important reminder that emotional wellbeing is not just about coping on the surface, but understanding the beliefs and experiences that shape how we see ourselves underneath it all.
You are not alone if this resonates with you.
Therapy can provide a safe space to explore where these beliefs came from, understand the patterns they create, and begin reshaping the internal narrative you hold about yourself.
You do not have to keep carrying the belief that you are “not enough.”
