When it comes to caring for our residents, listening is one of the most important things we do. We are committed to making sure everyone feels heard and has a say in their day-to-day life.
Our recent CQC report rated us 'Good' for being responsive, and we’re so proud of the team for a specific example in the report that really shows what we're all about.
The report highlighted how we worked with a resident who had trouble communicating. Our team listened to advice from their family and started using an iPad with a picture-based app to help the resident make simple choices, like what they wanted to eat or do. It’s a great example of how we treat everyone as an individual and find creative ways to make sure their needs are met.
It’s just one of the many ways we ensure our residents have choice and control, treating everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve.
What small things have you found that help a loved one communicate their choices?
