You may not have realised this but Simon turns 60 today, I know we couldn’t believe it either, we thought he was much older 🎈 🎂 🎁!! I’m sure you’ll agree he looks great for his age 😂 and if you don’t maybe it’s time for an eye test.

During the clinic today I saw makeup in the tear film and also makeup underneath embedded within the inside of the eyelid. Therefore I cannot stress proper eyecare. Make sure to completely remove all eye makeup using a gentle cleanser containing micellar water, Blephasol is a great example.

Heat is a great way to melt the meibum and gentle massage can help to remove clogged glands relieving dry eyes. My personal favourite is the Peep eye wand.

Then an eyelid formulated cleanser that is designed to cleanse the delicate skin around the eye area without causing dryness or irritation. They also gently remove a build-up of debris on the lids and lashes to help manage dry, sore, gritty eyes. My preferred is Zocular Zocufoam.

Then to finish up using an artificial tear if needed, artificial tears are often a band aid for dry eye and I prefer people try and improve their tear film naturally however sometimes artificial tears are still required. I prefer a preservative free drop and one recommend for your individual needs rather than just buying off the shelf.
