🩺 Important message from your GP surgery

We want to reassure our patients following recent cases of MenB in Kent. While these situations are rare, they are a reminder of how serious meningococcal disease can be, particularly for babies and young children.

💉The MenB (meningococcal B) vaccine has been routinely available on the NHS since September 2015, offering vital protection against a strain of bacteria that can cause meningitis and sepsis.

📕We strongly encourage parents and carers to check their child’s vaccination status and ensure they are up to date. The vaccine is offered as part of the routine childhood immunisation schedule, starting at 8 weeks of age up to 2 years old.

If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, please contact the surgery — our team is here to help.

**PLEASE NOTE** this vaccine is not currently available to patients over the age of 2 years old.

🚭National No Smoking Day 2026🚭

National No Smoking Day 2026 is on Wednesday, 11th March, serving as an annual UK health campaign to encourage smokers to quit.

ℹ️National No Smoking Day was first observed in 1984, with the primary aim of highlighting the health risks associated with smoking and assisting smokers in their journey to quit. Over the years, it has gained momentum and has become a significant event in public health campaigns in the UK. The day sees a collaboration of health organizations, communities, and individuals rallying together for a common cause.

✅Stopping smoking is one of the best things you will ever do for your health.

🩻When you stop, you give your lungs the chance to repair and you will be able to breathe easier. There are lots of other benefits too – and they start almost immediately.

🚫It’s never too late to quit.
