Today we celebrate the incredible love, strength and kindness of all mums and mother figures. 💐

For many, Mother’s Day is filled with hugs, laughter and special moments with family. But we know that for many others, today can bring a quiet ache as we remember a mum who is no longer with us.

A mother’s love never truly leaves us. It lives on in the memories we hold close, the lessons she taught us and the love she gave so freely.

Today we are thinking of everyone in our community — those celebrating, those remembering, and those who may find today a little difficult.

Because a mother’s love is forever, and the memories of her stay in our hearts always🩷

🌸 A Beautiful Window for Mother’s Day 🌸

We would like to say a big thank you to the very talented Jenny for once again creating a beautiful hand-painted window display for us.

This month we’re dedicating this beautiful artwork to Mother’s Day. It’s a gentle reminder of the love, warmth and memories we hold for our mums – whether they are with us or remembered with love.

Mother’s Day can be a special but sometimes emotional time for many families, and we hope this little display brings a smile to those passing by.

If you’re in the Crossgates area, please do take a moment to have a look as you pass.

Thank you again Jenny for sharing your creativity with our community – we truly appreciate it. 🌷

Brain Tumour Awareness Month 🤍

This month, we pause to recognise Brain Tumour Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness, show support, and remember those whose lives have been affected by a brain tumour diagnosis.

For our family, this month is deeply personal.

We are dedicating it to our beloved Mam and Grandma, Joyce 🤍

Joyce was the foundation of our family and truly one of a kind. She was gentle but strong, the kind of woman who always put others first. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter and comfort — the kettle was always on (with a biscuit or two), and no one ever left without feeling cared for.

She adored her children and grandchildren, and her love was quiet but constant — the steady kind that shapes who you become. She taught us the importance of kindness, resilience and looking after others, values that continue to guide us every day.

When a brain tumour touches a family, it changes everything. The diagnosis can be overwhelming, the treatment journey uncertain, and the emotional impact profound. Families often face strength-testing days filled with hope, fear, courage and love in equal measure.

The compassion we show to the families we support is rooted in our own experiences of love, loss, and standing beside someone you care for deeply.

This month, we remember Joyce — not only for what she faced, but for who she was: loving, selfless, and the heart of our family.

🤍

Valentine’s Day is often about love — and love doesn’t end when someone we care about is no longer with us.

Today we remember partners, parents, friends and family who remain forever in our hearts. Love lives on in memories, traditions and the quiet moments we hold close.

Thinking of all those remembering someone special today. 💕

World Cancer Day 🌼

Today, on 4th February, we pause to remember and honour everyone affected by cancer.
Those we have sadly lost, those currently facing a diagnosis, and the families and friends who walk alongside them with strength, love and resilience.

Cancer touches so many lives, often quietly and personally. Today is a reminder to show compassion, offer support, and never underestimate the power of kindness and understanding.

Our thoughts are with all those in our community and beyond whose lives have been shaped by cancer. 💛

Today’s Q&A
‘Can we visit our loved one in your chapel of rest?’

Our Chapel of Rest is a peaceful and private space within our premises, designed to offer families a calm place for reflection and remembrance.

We understand how important it is to spend time with your loved one in surroundings that feel gentle, dignified, and unhurried. The Chapel of Rest allows families the opportunity to sit quietly, say their goodbyes, or simply be present in their own time.

Visits are always arranged with care and sensitivity, ensuring privacy and a calm atmosphere at all times. As a family-run funeral directors, it is important to us that every detail supports comfort, respect, and peace during what can be a very difficult time.

If you would like to know more or arrange a visit, we are always here to help.
