You’re doing everything right—

🧘‍♀️ Therapy
📓 Journaling
💆‍♀️ Meditation

But your mood still crashes out of nowhere.

You still feel off… and you can’t explain why.

Here’s the truth most people never hear:

Mental health isn’t just mental.

It’s gut health. It’s blood sugar. It’s minerals, hormones, and hidden inflammation.

📲Swipe to see 5 root causes that can make you feel anxious, unmotivated, or emotionally unstable—even when your mindset is strong.

👉🏾 If you’ve been told it’s “just stress” or “just anxiety,” this might be the missing link.

💬 Drop a 🧠 if you’re ready to look deeper than talk therapy.

Mood swings at 3pm? It might be your lunch, not your life.

Because your neurotransmitters aren’t made from willpower—they’re made from food. 🧠🍳

Here’s the breakdown:

Most people eat a high-carb, low-protein breakfast (or skip it altogether), followed by a quick lunch with minimal fat and fibre.

The result?
🔺 Glucose spikes
🔻 Followed by a cortisol surge
📉 Followed by a sharp blood sugar crash

This rollercoaster tanks your brain’s ability to regulate mood, focus, and emotional stability—especially if you’re also low in protein (needed for dopamine + serotonin) and missing key cofactors like magnesium, B6, and zinc.

Low blood sugar triggers your adrenals → adrenaline and cortisol spike → cue irritability, anxiety, even tears.

It’s not “just a slump.” It’s your brain running out of fuel.

The fix?
→ Build meals with protein, fat, and fibre
→ Front-load protein earlier in the day
→ Stop blaming your mindset when it’s a blood sugar crash

👇🏾 If your mood flips like a switch in the afternoon—your lunch might need a makeover. Drop a 🍳 if you’ve been there.

Save this post for the next time your mood tanks at 3pm—your lunch might be the real culprit.

No, you’re not lazy.

You’re running on no fuel, with a nervous system stuck in survival mode. 🔥🥴

Let’s call it what it is:
🧠 You’re inflamed
🍽 You’re undereating (especially protein + micronutrients)
🥵 You’re stressed out
🧂 You’re mineral-depleted
🩸 Your blood sugar is swinging like crazy

And your body’s like: “You want me to feel motivated? I’m just trying to function.”

Low motivation isn’t always a mindset issue.

It’s often a biochemical shutdown—your body pulling the brakes to protect you.
Fix the biology.

And suddenly, you’re not procrastinating—you’re thriving.

👇🏾 If this feels a little too real… you’re not alone. Drop a 🧠 or DM me if you’re ready to figure out what your body’s really asking for.

Most people don’t connect gut health to mental health—until nothing else works.

But the gut is constantly communicating with the brain.

Here’s how it happens:
🧠 The gut produces ~90% of your serotonin
🦠 Dysbiosis = neuroinflammation
🩸 Leaky gut = cytokine release = mood shifts
🛑 Certain gut pathogens can even disrupt dopamine and GABA pathways

This isn’t “just a gut issue.” It’s a neurotransmitter factory problem.

Which means mental health symptoms like anxiety, irritability, or fatigue aren’t just in your head—they may be rooted in your microbiome.

If talk therapy, mindset work, or meds haven’t fully worked… this might be why.

👇🏾 Ever suspect your mood issues might be connected to your gut?

If mindset tools haven’t worked and you suspect your mood issues start in the gut, let’s talk. Get in touch using the link in my bio.

Think your brain fog is just “getting older”?

What if it’s actually your immune system setting off alarm bells inside your brain? 🧠🚨

Inflammation can slow down your memory, hijack your focus, and drain your mental energy — without showing up on a lab test.

In this post, I’m breaking down:
👉🏾 Why brain fog is often biological, not just psychological
👉🏾 How gut issues, stealth infections, and blood sugar crashes impact your brain
👉🏾 What signs to look for (besides just feeling “off”)
👉🏾 Why this isn’t permanent — and what you can do about it

Save this for the next time you feel “off” and start questioning your productivity… again.

Your brain isn’t broken. It’s asking for help.

Save this post for the next time your brain feels foggy and you start blaming yourself—it could be inflammation, not you.

Tired, shaky, snappy… but your tests are ‘normal’? This might be why. 😵‍💫

Most people only talk about high blood sugar…

But reactive hypoglycemia—aka your blood sugar crashing too low after eating—is often the first red flag of metabolic dysfunction. Especially in women.

Here’s what happens:

↪️You eat something high in carbs (maybe without enough protein or fat).
↪️Your blood sugar spikes fast → your body overcompensates with a surge of insulin → your blood sugar drops too low.

Cue the crash:
🔻 Shakiness
🔻 Brain fog
🔻 Anxiety
🔻 Irritability
🔻 Intense sugar cravings
🔻 Fatigue an hour or two after eating

And the worst part? This can happen even if your tests say your blood sugar is “normal.”

Fasting glucose doesn’t catch blood sugar variability. You can be “healthy” on paper while silently riding a glucose rollercoaster every single day.

The fix?

Start stabilising your meals with:
✅ Protein first
✅ Fat + fibre for the slow burn
✅ Fewer naked carbs
✅ Nervous system regulation (yes, your stress response is part of this too)

💡 This isn’t about cutting carbs—it’s about teaching your body how to handle them better.
If you’ve ever said “I feel weird when I don’t eat every 2 hours”… this post was for you.

Do you have any of the above symptoms?

Have you ever been told your tests were “normal” while your body was screaming otherwise? Share your story below—I see you.

📍 Want to know if your gut is struggling? Take this at-home self-test ⬇

Your gut sends you signals every single day—but most people ignore them. Instead of guessing what’s wrong, try these simple at-home self-tests to see if your gut needs support.

🔍 QUICK GUT HEALTH SELF-TESTS

✔ Wake up & drink a glass of water. Do you bloat instantly?
→ Possible low stomach acid (Your stomach isn’t breaking down food properly!)

✔ Eat garlic or onion. Do you get gassy?
→ Possible SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) (Fermenting bacteria where they shouldn’t be!)

✔ Skip breakfast. Do you feel nauseous or shaky?
→ Possible blood sugar-gut imbalance (Your gut bacteria influence blood sugar regulation!)

✔ Look at your tongue in the mirror. Do you see a white coating?
→ Possible candida overgrowth (Your gut might have an imbalance of yeast vs. bacteria!)

✔ Do you burp within 3 minutes of drinking water with baking soda?
→ If NO, possible low stomach acid (You need stomach acid to trigger digestion!)

✔ Pinch the skin on the back of your hand. Does it take a while to bounce back?
→ Possible electrolyte imbalance from gut issues (Your gut isn’t absorbing minerals properly!)

✔ Check your p**p schedule. Are you going LESS than once per day?
→ Possible sluggish digestion (Your gut is holding onto waste too long!)

✔ Do you crave sugar or carbs constantly?
→ Possible gut bacteria imbalance (Your microbiome is controlling your cravings!)

Your body is giving you clues every day—are you listening?

Most people think a slow metabolism is just about ageing, eating too much, or not exercising enough—but the truth is, it’s often the small, daily habits you don’t even realise are sabotaging you. This includes:

🔹Drinking Coffee on an Empty Stomach
❌Spikes cortisol, leading to blood sugar crashes, increased cravings, and metabolic stress.
✅Eat protein & healthy fats first, then have coffee.

🔹Eating Too Late at Night
❌Disrupts circadian rhythm, increases insulin resistance, and impacts digestion overnight.
✅Stop eating 2-3 hours before bed to improve fat-burning and metabolic efficiency.

🔹Ignoring Your Step Count
❌NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) makes up the majority of daily calorie burn—sitting too much tanks metabolism.
✅Get at least 8,000-10,000 steps daily, especially post-meal walks.

🔹 Skipping Protein at Breakfast
❌Leads to blood sugar crashes, more cravings, and lower thermogenesis throughout the day.
✅Eat 30-40g of protein first thing in the morning.

🔹Over-Reliance on Cardio Instead of Strength Training
❌Too much cardio burns muscle, which is the biggest driver of a fast metabolism.
✅Strength train 3-4x per week and focus on progressive overload.

🔹Dehydration = Slower Calorie Burn
❌Even mild dehydration reduces ATP (energy) production and fat metabolism.
✅Drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily (and add electrolytes!).

🔹Sitting Immediately After Eating
❌Leads to higher insulin spikes & slower digestion, causing more fat storage.
✅Walk for 10-15 minutes after meals to improve blood sugar control.

🔹Low Fat Diet
❌Hormones like testosterone, oestrogen, and thyroid hormones need healthy fats to function.
✅Eat avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, fatty fish, and grass-fed butter daily.

🔹Waking Up at Different Times Every Day
❌Your body thrives on routine, and irregular sleep-wake cycles disrupt metabolic efficiency.
✅Wake up within the same 30-minute window daily, even on weekends.

Are you eating like it’s summer… in winter (or winter in summer)? 🍓❄️

Seasonal eating isn’t just about sustainability—it’s a game-changer for hormone health!

What you eat affects your:
💥metabolism
💥energy levels
💥hormone balance

Here’s how aligning your diet with the seasons can support better digestion, hormone regulation, and overall well-being.

✅Supports natural hormone cycles
Your body responds to seasonal changes like temperature, daylight, and food availability. Eating seasonally helps align your circadian rhythm, which impacts hormones like cortisol and melatonin.

✅Balances blood sugar & energy levels
Seasonal foods provide nutrients your body craves in different climates. Think hydrating fruits in summer or grounding root vegetables in winter—both help regulate insulin, cortisol, and thyroid hormones.

✅Boosts gut health
Eating a variety of seasonal produce supports a diverse gut microbiome, which is key for oestrogen metabolism and immune regulation.

Signs you might be eating out of season:
⚠️ Summer foods in winter:
➔Cold smoothies or salads causing bloating or fatigue.
➔Feeling cold, sluggish, or craving warm, hearty foods.

⚠️ Winter foods in summer:
➔Heavy, starchy meals making you feel sluggish or overly full.
➔Lack of hydration and cravings for cooling, juicy foods.

How to start seasonal eating today:
📌Shop local & fresh: Visit farmers’ markets for in-season produce.
📌Swap smart: Replace cold smoothies in winter with warm breakfasts like oatmeal or veggie scrambles.
📌Cook with intention: Use warming spices like cinnamon and ginger in cooler months and cooling herbs like mint and cilantro in summer.

Eating seasonally isn’t just trendy—it’s hormone-smart!

Which seasonal food do you love most right now?
