As the year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you and wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Your continued trust, support, kind words and recommendations mean more than I can put into words. Whether you have been in recently, referred a friend or family member, or simply supported the clinic over the year, I am truly grateful.

It is a privilege to support you with your health and wellbeing, and I never take that trust lightly. Your loyalty and encouragement allow the clinic to continue doing what it does best, helping people move and feel better.

From myself and my colleague Dave, we would like to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 and continuing to support you in the year ahead.

Neck pain and shoulder tension love to act like the same problem ✨ A tight upper traps stretch might feel like shoulder tension, but it can still be coming from the neck. The exercises in this video can help you notice what feels stiff, but it is not always clear which area is driving the pain.

If your symptoms keep coming back, or if they feel sharp, numb, or worrying, it is important to get a proper diagnosis so you know what is really going on. An osteopath can assess the joints, nerves, and soft tissues to find the true cause and guide you through the right treatment 💆‍♀️

After a tough reminder of why protecting your work matters, this feels like a huge milestone.
Every detail, every late night, every ounce of heart, it’s all been worth it.

This little mark now carries a lot of meaning; growth, resilience, and the reminder to stand up for what you’ve poured your heart into.

What started as a little childhood dream, has grown into something I’m so proud of… and now, it’s officially mine.

Align is FIVE!! 🥳 🎈 🥂

Life is just… fast, isn’t it?!
It doesn’t feel like 2 seconds ago I was wandering around an empty shell (and that’s putting it kindly) of a building, just as the word “covid” was being flung around, and I was quietly terrified/excited at the prospect of opening my very own clinic.

A lot of you have been on this journey with me (and I genuinely, couldn’t have done it without all your support) and you have seen the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

I’m so beyond proud of what Align is today. It means, so, so much to me. The therapists we have working at Align, the range of services we offer… it’s just amazing that it’s all come together so perfectly.

Align is a place for everyone, a safe place for healthcare, to be heard, and to feel looked after.

A little reintroduction to new followers 👋
I’m Caroline, and I’m an osteopath and clinical Pilates instructor at Align, Horsforth.

I opened my own clinic 5 years ago, but I’ve been in practice for 12 years now and feel so incredibly lucky to help people get back to what they love most. 🙏

Osteopathy is probably one of the least known musculoskeletal treatments available. So here’s a little summary:

✅ we’re regulated healthcare professionals, found both privately & within the NHS
✅ we specialise in musculoskeletal care. That bout of neck pain you’re ignoring? That’s for us to help with! The sciatica you get after sitting too long? That’s our bread and butter! The list goes on - if you’ve got muscular or joint pain… chances are we probably treat it! (DM to find out)
✅ we study for 4-5 years and have a masters degree in osteopathy. You’re in safe hands.
✅ some of us specialise in specific areas, but all of us are low-key anatomy geeks.

These may seem pretty obvious, but it’s never a surprise to hear just how many of my patients struggle to hit all 4 of these points every day.

Moving, that’s obvious right? We were designed to move! But what about that tension in your jaw and your shoulders up by your ears? Two very common “stress” postures which can lead to tension headaches.

Abdominal breaths? Thought they were only for yoga? Nope! They actually calm the CNS and therefore reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels. They also encourage you to use your big diaphragm muscle to do the hard work of moving your rib cage (instead of relying on your tiny muscles at the top of your rib cage).

And lastly. Water. Water. Water.

Happy New Year from me 🥂

This year changed my world 🩷 and I’m so grateful for all of the support along the way for me & my little business.

I’ve very much had my hands full this year, but the (many 😆) sleepless nights, allowed me to have some time to think about my new goals for my little biz and so there’s some exciting updates for next year for .withcaroline and I can’t wait to share them with you ✨

The clinic is now closed for us to take some time off with our families, so I wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas & a happy New Year!

These symptoms could quite possibly indicate a disc has bulged and caused disruption to the nerves exiting at that vertebral level. Sometimes these symptoms present as “sciatica”, depending on what nerve is being annoyed.

Osteopaths can assess, diagnose, treat and advise what to do to manage a disc bulge. You don’t need a GP referral, and usually, no imaging is necessary.
