👶 Childcare vacancies at our Little Owls nurseries: salaries ranging from £25,185 to £28,142

We’re looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our Little Owls nurseries! As our next post holder, you will be based at one of our Little Owls Nurseries, where you’ll provide high quality care and education for children while supporting their families.

As a nursery worker, you’ll have the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively, while taking the lead on planning a range of activities to aid children’s learning. There will be opportunities for personal growth and career development whilst working with Leeds City Council.

You will bring to the role, experience of working with children and families and good numeracy and literacy skills. A minimum of a level 2 or level 3 qualification in childcare is a must as well as the ability to safeguard children.

Have you got coats and fleeces collecting dust at home? 🏠

Donations are open for this year’s Wear and Share Leeds Winter Coat Appeal.

Simply take your unwanted clothing to one of their donation locations and drop it off. All they ask is that it is clean, high quality, and has a working zip (if needed).

If you, or someone you know, would benefit from a free winter coat, the Wear and Share Leeds Winter Coat Appeal can help ❄

Winter items are now available at 28 Community Hubs across Leeds until the end of February 2026, and the rails will be restocked each week.

Please only take one coat per family member to ensure that there are enough coats to help other families. All items provided are not for resale.

Applying for a reception school place for your child? Here are some top tips:

☑ Do your research – visit the school in person and check their website
☑ Check how each school makes offers – consider how likely it is that a school will offer your child a place
☑ If you want your child to go to the school where they attend nursery then make sure you list it as a preference
☑ Use all your preferences - list 5 schools on your application for the best chance at a school you like
☑ Include your catchment school in your preferences if you want a local school place
☑ Tell us about any siblings already at the school

We have loved welcoming LEAPlets back this term!

Our children have loved exploring imaginative movement activities.
A huge thank you to Rhiannon, our BUSS Practitioner, and the fantastic LEAPlets team for making building strong bodies such a fun and creative experience! 💪🧡

We’re delighted to be partnering with Little Owls Nursery Two Willows again to deliver LEAPlets at their Centre this term 🦉🌳

Our latest focus has been thinking about the shoulder girdle, using our imagination to commando crawl as mermaids swimming through underwater caves 🧜🌊

Thanks to our BUSS Practitioner, Rhiannon, and the amazing team at Two Willows, building strong bodies can be so much fun!💪🏼🧡

Is your baby over 1? Why not swap their bottle for one of our free-flowing baby cups? The 0-19 PHINS Oral Health Team will be moving across the city swapping bottles for cups on Wednesday 19th November 2025!

This winter, protect yourself and those around you by getting vaccinated.

If you're eligible for a free flu or Covid-19 vaccine, now is the time to book.

Free flu vaccines are available for those aged 65 and over, people who have a weakened immune system or long-term health conditions, pregnant women, and children aged 2 and 3 years old.

Free Covid-19 vaccines are offered to people aged 75 and over, those with weakened immune systems, and care home residents.
