๐ง WHAT DO I ACTUALLY DO? ๐ง
I thought it might be useful to explain exactly what I do, because my work does not really fit neatly into one box.
I work with children, young people, adults, parents, families, schools and professionals around neurodivergence, mental health, behaviour and complex situations.
A lot of NHS and private services offer support with separate parts of the picture.
One service might focus on emotional regulation.
Another might focus on ADHD, anxiety, RSD, autism, school behaviour or mental health.
What I pride myself on is looking at the whole picture.
Rather than families being passed from one service to another, I help work out what is actually going on, why it is happening, and what needs to change.

๐ก FLEXIBLE SUPPORT ๐ก
I offer home visits across Yorkshire.
For people further away, I also work across the UK and worldwide by telephone or video call.
I can work in homes, schools, workplaces, or wherever the most useful place is.
Sometimes I arrive and do not know exactly what I will be dealing with that day.
It might be school issues, detentions, ADHD-related behaviour, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, refusal, shutdowns, family conflict or something completely different.
We work with whatever is most important at the time.

๐ฑ NEURODIVERGENCE AND MENTAL HEALTH ๐ฑ
I work with ADHD, autism, AuDHD, PDA, emotional dysregulation, rejection sensitivity, anxiety, depression, low mood, burnout, shutdowns, meltdowns, school difficulties and complex behaviour.
I also work with more complicated combinations.
For example, autism, PDA and depression together, or neurodivergence mixed with mental health, learning disability, family stress and school pressure.
That is often where I am most useful.
I help make sense of the whole situation, rather than only looking at one small part of it.

๐ช WHEN SOMEONE WILL NOT ENGAGE ๐ช
A lot of people come to me because their child will not attend appointments, leave the house, come downstairs or speak to professionals.
This is where flexibility matters.
I can work at the child or young personโs pace, with parents involved appropriately, and without forcing a traditional appointment format that clearly is not working.
If the best starting point is working with the parents instead, that is fine too.
Some children I never meet directly because they are not ready to engage, they live elsewhere, or the adults need support first.
Sometimes helping the adults understand the situation properly is the most effective first step.

๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง PARENT AND FAMILY WORK ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง
I do a lot of work with parents and families.
This can include family dynamics, communication problems, rejection sensitivity, conflict, emotional intensity, misunderstandings and people feeling rejected or criticised.
Sometimes the work is with the child.
Sometimes it is with the parents.
Sometimes it is with the whole family.
Some families book single sessions.
Others buy a block of sessions and use them however they need.
It might be school one week, mental health the next, family dynamics another time, or a mixture of everything.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
๐ HELPING PARENTS BECOME EXPERTS ๐
Some parents pay me to train them to become more confident and knowledgeable in their own right.
The aim is not just for me to tell people what to do.
The aim is to help parents understand what is happening, why it is happening, and how to respond.
Over time, parents become better at spotting patterns, managing difficulties and knowing what to do next.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
๐ ASSESSMENTS AND REPORTS ๐
Everybody who has an initial assessment receives a full written report.
These are usually around 8 to 10 pages long.
I take a lot of pride in these reports.
They are not generic.
They give a detailed snapshot of the personโs life, history, timeline, current situation and needs which can be used as evidence in future.
The first section sets out the relevant background.
The second section explains what appears to be happening and why.
The third section sets out a practical plan for what needs to happen next.

๐ซ SCHOOLS, EHCPs AND PROFESSIONAL MEETINGS ๐ซ
Some parents ask me to support them in meetings.
This might include school meetings, EHCP reviews, tribunals or difficult conversations with services.
I can act as backup, help explain what is going on, and support parents to communicate the childโs needs clearly.
I also work with schools, hospitals and professionals around complex cases they are struggling to manage.
A lot of this work is about helping people understand the overlap between neurodivergence, mental health, behaviour, communication, family dynamics and the environment around the person.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
๐ WHEN MEDICATION OR SERVICES HAVE NOT BEEN ENOUGH ๐
Some people come to me because ADHD medication has not helped in the way they hoped.
Some want practical strategies alongside medication.
Others come because referrals have been declined, delayed, or the waiting list is far too long.
A lot of people are stuck between services.
They know something is not right, but they do not know where they are supposed to go or who is supposed to help.
That is where I try to fill the gap.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
๐ง COACHING AND LONGER-TERM WORK ๐ง
One of the things I really enjoy is ADHD and autism coaching.
This is about helping people understand themselves properly and manage the difficulties that come with their brain and nervous system.
Some of my favourite work is with bright, intelligent, highly engaged people who want to understand everything.
I teach the neurobiology behind what is happening.
I explain why certain patterns occur, what the brain and body are doing, and why things have happened.
Then I keep building on that knowledge over time.
The aim is for the person to understand themselves well enough that, if things start to go wrong in the future, they can recognise it and know what they need to do.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
๐งญ THE BIGGER PICTURE ๐งญ
My job is to help people understand the brain, body, behaviour, patterns and reasons behind what is happening.
I explain why things have happened.
Then I help put a plan in place so the same problems are less likely to keep repeating.
A lot of my work is about filling the gaps where services often struggle.
I help people make sense of complex situations, especially when mental health and neurodivergence overlap.
Then we work out a realistic way forward.
