✨️Rest deserves the same recognition as effort ✨️

In sport we celebrate pushing hard, but the real gains often come from what happens when we pause...

Athletes, coaches, parents, support staff... we all need moments to breathe and reset. Recovery isn't just physical, it's mental too. It isn't stepping away from performance, it's what sustains it.

When we refill our own cup, we sharpen decision-making, boost adaptability, and protect the consistency that high performance relies on.

Just as importantly, it gives us space to nurture the parts of our life that exist beyond sport. The relationships, interests, and moments that keep us grounded and whole.

💭 When was the last time you refilled your cup?💭

✨️ NEW BLOG POST: PLAYING ON ONE STRING 🎸

"I didn't give up on my football career; I've just gone to the very end, and now I need to look beyond football" ‐ Owen Bickley

In this blog, I've teamed up with footballer Owen Bickley to explore the emotional toll of injury. The isolation, the identity loss, and the quiet moments people rarely talk about. Owen shares his story with transparency and honesty in the hope that it will help others facing similar challenges.

Because your value isn't defined by performance or even by sport. It's shaped by the strings you have on your guitar.

💭 REBT in Sport 💭

Feeling grateful and inspired after last week's workshop on 'Applying REBT in Elite Sport'

A huge thank you to Dr. Martin Turner and Dr. Andrew Wood for delivering such an insightful session. As a trainee Sport Psychologist, I am always looking for opportunities to grow and refine my practice. This workshop provided me with practical strategies to support athlete performance and wellbeing, as well as a renewed sense of confidence in applying REBT.

A big thanks again to the facilitators and everyone who contributed to such a collaborative learning space. If you're interested in learning more about using REBT in your practice, then I'd certainly recommend keeping an eye out for future sessions!

✨️ BLOG POST: BEYOND THE LABEL 🧠

"Sport should be a place where everyone can thrive... but are we truly supporting neurodiverse athletes?"

I've had the privilege of working with athletes whose stories have challenged, inspired, and educated me. This blog post is shaped by those conversations — a reflection on how sport still presents barriers for neurodiverse individuals, and what we can do to start to break them down.

It’s time to move beyond assumptions, beyond stereotypes... beyond the label.

✨️PROMISE Conference 2025✨️

Such an insightful weekend hearing from, and connecting with, professionals who have made it their mission to help to protect mental health in sport and exercise.

It has been amazing to see the incredible work that has been happening in this field, but very evidently, there is still so much that needs to be done.

💡 My 3 Key Takeaways 💡
There are still significant barriers that exist within sports organisations that prevent individuals from seeking help...

Mental and physical health are inseparable, so work closely with your MDT, seek information and take a hollistic approach to support...

Support staff need support too...
..

Remember that there is a person behind every athlete, a person behind every coach, a person behind every physio, S&C, psychologist (the list goes on). Let's step away from normalising stress, malpractice, and abuse, and instead, start moving towards creating safer, more supportive environments that promote wellbeing and enable people to thrive.

Maybe today it's as simple as starting the conversation.

✨️ My challenge for you... reach out to one person, check in, and really listen ✨️

"How are you doing?"
