A Wet Room Designed for Independence without Compromise🤍

Following a life-changing accident, our 27-year-old client in Wakefield needed a bathroom that truly worked for her new reality. What had once been a standard family bathroom had become restrictive, unsafe and impossible to use independently.🫶

But while accessibility was essential, she was clear about one thing she didn’t want a space that felt clinical.✨

Working closely with her, our Adaptation Designer Nigel reimagined the room entirely. The bath was removed, the layout opened up and a true level-access wet room was created to allow comfortable wheelchair maneuverability now and in the future.✔️

Large-format Madagascar Grey tiles bring a calm, contemporary feel. A bespoke Corian topped shower bench provides secure seating while maintaining a sleek, high-end finish. Anthracite anti-slip flooring, a comfort height WC, wall-hung basin and carefully positioned grab rails all combine to deliver safety without dominating the design.🎉

Installed by our Multi-Skilled Fitter Chris whose attention to detail (and millimetre-perfect tiling) truly sets him apart the finished space is modern, spacious and empowering.✨

Most importantly, it has restored confidence and independence.

From cramped and difficult to calm, safe and future-ready 🚿💙

When Mr and Mrs Dent contacted us, their bathroom was becoming increasingly hard to use particularly for Mr Dent, who has significant balance issues. Although the room included a bath and walk-in shower, the layout was poorly configured, circulation space was tight and the raised shower tray made safe access difficult with a zimmer frame.🫶

Their goal was simple but important:
to create a true level-access mobility wet room that would feel safe, comfortable and reassuring now and for the future.🙌

By fully reconfiguring the space, removing the bath and redesigning the layout from the ground up, we were able to create a spacious wet room with:
✔️ A fully level-access shower
✔️ Anti-slip flooring for confidence underfoot
✔️ Carefully positioned grab rails and a shower seat
✔️ A raised-height WC and wall-hung basin
✔️ Modern finishes that feel welcoming, not clinical

The result is a bathroom that supports independence while still looking calm, contemporary and thoughtfully designed. Most importantly, it’s delivered complete peace of mind not just for Mr and Mrs Dent, but for their daughter too.
