Are you ignoring your body?

Not the big symptoms…
The small ones.

The ones you’ve been brushing off.

✨ Brittle nails
✨ Occasional constipation
✨ Dry skin or eczema
✨ That dip in energy
✨ The headache that “just happens”

They don’t feel urgent.
So they get ignored.

But here’s the thing…

Your body rarely starts with a shout.
It starts with a whisper.

And those whispers?
They’re often connected.

So instead of asking:
“Is this serious enough?”

Try asking:
“What is my body trying to tell me?”

Because when you understand the pattern,
you can actually do something about it.

✨ More clarity
✨ A real plan
✨ A way forward

So I’ll ask you this—

What’s the one symptom you’ve been putting off?

💛 It might be time to listen.

Every step matters 💛

Sarah is taking on a walking challenge to raise money for a cause that is incredibly close to her heart — supporting individuals and families living with Down syndrome.

This isn’t just about distance.
It’s about awareness.
It’s about inclusion.
It’s about creating a world where every person is truly seen, supported, and valued.

At the Dr Indra Practice, kindness and compassion sit at the centre of everything we do.
Because healthcare is not just about symptoms — it’s about people, their stories, and the communities around them.

If this speaks to you, we would love you to support Sarah in any way you can 💛

Functional medicine is different because it starts with time.

Time to listen.
Time to connect the dots.
Time to understand your whole story — not just your symptoms.

Instead of looking at one system in isolation, we look across the full matrix:
hormones, gut, metabolism, immune function, detox pathways, stress response, sleep.

Because the body doesn’t work in separate compartments.

We also build a full health timeline — mapping symptoms alongside life events, stress, nutrition, illness, and changes over time.

That’s where patterns often appear.
And when the pattern makes sense, the next steps become clear.

From there, healing isn’t about a quick fix.
It’s about small, consistent changes that address root causes and support long-term resilience.

Because real progress happens when your body is supported to move toward your goals — step by step.

✨ Healing often begins when your story is finally understood.

Step 3: Help your body use your food

It’s not just what you eat.
It’s what your body can actually use.

Keep this simple 👇

1. Chew your food (aim for 30 times)
This helps your body start digestion properly.

2. Open your bowels regularly
Ideally daily.
This helps your body clear what it doesn’t need.

That’s it.
Start here.

If your body still isn’t responding the way you expect…
there may be something deeper going on.

We can help you figure that out.

Your energy is not just about sleep.
It’s cellular.

Every moment, your body is creating energy inside your mitochondria — tiny engines inside your cells.

But they can only do this if they have what they need.

Here’s what actually goes into making energy:

🔋 Fuel (what you eat)
– Carbohydrates
– Fats
– Protein

⚙️ B Vitamins (the spark plugs)
– B1 (thiamine)
– B2 (riboflavin)
– B3 (niacin)
– B5 (pantothenic acid)
– B6

⚙️ Minerals (the stabilisers)
– Magnesium (essential for ATP)
– Iron (oxygen + electron transport)
– Zinc
– Copper

⚙️ Mitochondrial support nutrients
– CoQ10
– L-carnitine
– Alpha lipoic acid
– Creatine
– Glutathione

🌬️ Oxygen
– The final step in energy production

And here’s the part most people miss:

You can have all the nutrients…
but if the body is under stress, inflamed, or overwhelmed — energy still won’t be made properly.

Fatigue is rarely just “low energy.”
It’s your system asking for support.

If you’re feeling tired, foggy, or not yourself…
this is where we start.

✨ Book a discovery call to understand what your body neeDs

Because if you suddenly had your energy back tomorrow…
👉 would you actually do anything differently?

Or would you go back to:
– pushing through
– overcommitting
– putting yourself last
– running on empty again

This is where healing really starts.

Not with more supplements.
Not with another plan.

But with understanding:
👉 where your energy is going
👉 and what needs to change when it comes back

Because if nothing changes…
your body will keep taking that energy away.

If this resonates,
book a discovery call.

If your energy feels unpredictable, your body may be asking for regulation — not more caffeine ☕️⚡️

Here are 3 science-backed ways to support your energy this week 👇

✨ 1. Stabilise blood sugar
Aim for protein + fibre + healthy fats at each meal.
This helps prevent energy crashes, cravings, and cortisol spikes.

🌞 2. Get morning daylight
Try getting outside within 30 minutes of waking.
Even 5–10 minutes of natural light supports your circadian rhythm and improves daytime alertness.

🚶‍♀️ 3. Move gently but consistently
A short 10-minute walk after meals can improve glucose regulation and support mitochondrial energy production (your cells’ energy engines).

💡 Energy isn’t just about sleep — it’s about how your whole system is functioning.

Choose one habit to try this week and notice the difference.

💬 Which one will you start with: 1, 2 or 3?

📌 Save this for later if energy is something you’re working on.

Who should consider booking a discovery call?

Maybe it’s you if…

• You’re ready for change — not quick fixes, but real understanding
• You want to deep dive into how your body is actually working
• You’re curious… “What else could I do to feel more balanced, more like me?”

• You’ve been told “everything looks normal” — but you don’t feel it
• You’ve heard “there’s nothing more we can do”
• Or even… “it’s all in your head”

And something inside you is saying… there must be more to this

This is where we begin.
A conversation.
A space to be heard.
A chance to look at your health differently.

I wonder what we could discover together ✨

This weekend was all about community, connection, and sharing food together 🤍

And of course… I couldn’t resist getting a little creative in the kitchen.

My focus?
✨ Gluten-free
✨ Dairy-free
✨ Low sugar
✨ Still completely scrummy

Dessert one:
A deconstructed apple crumble 🍏
Slow cooked apples and blueberries, paired with a dairy-free custard and topped with a soft oat cookie crumble (no baking needed). Simple, comforting, and nourishing.

Dessert two (today):
A twist on a Sri Lankan chocolate biscuit pudding 🍫
Gluten-free, dairy-free biscuits soaked in almond milk, layered with whipped dairy-free chocolate cream and a touch of honey… finished with fresh strawberries on top.

Because food like this isn’t about restriction.
It’s about reimagining, enjoying, and bringing people together.

And honestly… seeing everyone enjoy it was the best part.

If you’re struggling with what to eat, feeling restricted, or unsure how to make food both nourishing and enjoyable — we can help you find that balance.

British Summer Time = mini jet lag ✈️
And if you’re in perimenopause, it can feel brutal.

The clock changes overnight…
but your cortisol + melatonin don’t.

If you’ve noticed:
😴 broken sleep
🔥 night sweats
⚡ fatigue
🍫 cravings
😬 anxiety

…your circadian rhythm may need support.

Start here for 5 days:
☀️ morning light
🍳 protein breakfast
🌙 dim lights at night

**What actually *is* Functional Medicine?**

It’s one of the most common questions I get asked…

So I’ve written a blog to explain it simply—
what it is, how it’s different, and whether it might be right for you.

✨ No jargon
✨ No overwhelm
✨ Just clarity

If you’ve ever felt like:
“I know something’s not quite right… but I don’t have answers”

This is for you.

Ever have one of those days where you’re just not feeling 100%?

Today was that for me.

But then… my patients reminded me why this work matters.

The small steps they’re taking
The courage to keep going
The quiet shifts that don’t always get seen

✨ That’s where the real change happens

No big breakthroughs.
Just consistent, gentle movement forward.

And honestly?
Today my homemade ginger shot felt like a small victory too.

Because sometimes it’s not about doing everything…
it’s about doing something
