Somewhere a long time ago, fat got demonised. But the truth is, healthy fats are essential for our bodies, especially if you’re trying to support your hormones

🥑 Avocados, nuts, olive oil, salmon… these beauties don’t just taste good, they help to regulate hunger, stabilise blood sugar and even boost GLP-1 naturally (this is one of the hormones that control your appetite)

🥣I see so many clients still scared to have whole milk in their porridge or avoid hummus like it’s the plague. But your body needs fat. Your hormones are actually made from it and spoiler alert: those hormones are driving your appetite, energy and weight regulation 😅

It doesn’t take much! Add a thumb-sized portion of healthy fats to each meal and see how your satiety improves. You may even feel fuller, more energised and way less likely to faceplant into a multipack of crisps by 4pm

During perimenopause, your decline in oestrogen triggers lots of hormonal changes that influence your ability to lose weight around your mid section…

‍🧔 You have more available testosterone which triggers a redistribution of body fat around the the abdominal area

There’s something no one tells you about trying to eat well while building your business… and it might be why your energy’s always on the floor. Let’s dig in ⬇🍽

Confession time: I’ve hard my fair share of days this year where I’ve eaten lunch at 4pm or finished working at 9pm thinking, “F***, what can I cook at this time?!”

And yep, I’m a Nutritional Therapist. I should know better 🙈

But the truth is, being self-employed, juggling clients, content, creating new offers and all the backend chaos? It gets hectic. And sometimes when I’m in deep focus mode, stopping for a meal genuinely slips my mind

The irony isn’t lost on me - I tell my clients how important regular meals are! And yet, I’ve definitely ignored my own advice and had my own version of ‘girl dinner’ 😅🎀 🍽💗🌸

The reality is skipping meals or delaying meals messes with your hunger hormones. It can lead to bigger energy crashes, bigger portions later and usually, a lot less satisfaction. But eating 3 meals at roughly the same time each day? That keeps gut hormones like GLP-1 steady, which helps your appetite and portions stay in check 🤗

While I do have the occasional late-night meal oopsie, it’s not something I do every week or try to turn into a habit 😉

So here’s my gentle nudge: Try your best to eat regularly, even when work is chaotic. But if you miss a meal now and then? You’re human. I won’t judge you. I’m right there with you!

(And no, it’s not because you “weren’t disciplined enough” 🙄)

There’s one thing nobody talks about before starting Wegovy… and it could make or break your weight loss results. Let’s talk about it! 👀💉

Everyone seems to be asking me lately: “What do you think of weight loss injections?”

🥑 So here’s my two pence: Semaglutide (aka Wegovy) mimics GLP-1, a hormone which is released after eating and signals fullness to the brain. This helps appetite control and blood sugar balance

But (there’s always a but isn’t there!)…

🍷 You still need to eat like a functioning adult and move your body. No medication is going to undo Friday night takeaway, skipping meals or living off oat milk frappes and vibes ✨

💉 Injections can support weight loss, but it works best if your lifestyle doesn’t sabotage it behind the scenes. Many of my weight loss clients are doing well on these meds and are feeling more confident about maintaining their healthy habits for when they eventually come off them

If you’re on weight loss meds and your gut’s not, erm… moving, this one’s for you 💩 🚽

Yep, fibre is important, but if you’re not drinking enough water to move that fibre through, your gut’s going to be more stuck than the last Pringle in the can 😅🥫

Hydration supports the hormone GLP-1 (which regulates your appetite), keeps your bowels regular and honestly just makes you feel better. Small tweak. Big impact!

But most people know they need to drink more water - your mum’s been banging on about it since the 80s. But the how? That’s where people get stuck (if you pardon the pun 🧻)

Here are my fave client-approved tricks to drink more (without needing to buy another motivational water bottle):

🍸 The 2-2-2 method: 2 glasses in the morning, 2 mid-day, 2 later on
🥴 Start the day with a warm glass of water before you touch your phone or coffee
🍵 Get into herbal teas (Sorry to say it, but coffee and builder’s tea don’t count here)

There’s one thing that may make GLP-1 work even better and lots of people overlook it completely…

Movement - also known as ‘moving yo ass’ in my house 😅

🤸🏿‍♀️ Whether you’re using weight loss injections or not, regular exercise (especially resistance training + aerobic activities) helps your body respond better to GLP-1 and GIP. These hormones don’t just magically do the job for you, they need your body to be in the game too!

☕ Now, you don’t need to force yourself to become a regular or go to a coffee shop run club (unless the idea of free coffee is your thing 😉). But I do want you to pick something you actually enjoy and can stick to during the working week

To get you started, here are 3 easy ways to sneak in more movement during your workday:

✅ Set a timer for every 45 mins and pop out 10 bodyweight squats (get your co-workers or your cat involved!)
✅ Take a 15-min walk on your lunch break (legs, lungs and headspace sorted)
✅ Stretch your legs after dinner with a quick lap around the block

Personally? I like to incorporate a mix of daily walking and use an app for strength training 3x a week. I just show up, follow the plan and don’t have to think about what I’m doing. Perfect for us mentally overloaded girlies ❤✨

I’m all about building habits that actually stick. Your weight loss journey doesn’t need to be intense, just consistent

If you’re on weight loss injections but still hoovering up your dinner in under 5 minutes... you could be sabotaging your results. Here’s why chewing matters more than you think 👇

GLP-1 meds like Wegovy work by telling your brain: “Hey we’re full, put the fork down”

They slow digestion, which helps you stay fuller for longer 😝

🐺 But if you're wolfing your meals down like it's a hot dog eating contest, your gut doesn’t get the memo! Cue: indigestion, bloating, reflux and weirdly, still feeling hungry afterwards

👄 Chewing properly (yes, even that last mouthful) gives your digestive system time to do its job and supports how the meds work

🍽 So next time you eat, try slowing down. Put the phone down. Actually taste your food. It’s the kind of small habit that seems too simple to matter... but it does!

In just 2 minutes, I’m going to show you how to wake up with more energy (without needing 3 alarms, a green smoothie or a 6am motivational podcast)

For a long time, I thought I was just bad at mornings. I needed to snooze 3 alarms, would wake up groggy and basically wasn’t a pleasant human before 9am (Morning people? Couldn’t relate.)

But the truth? I wasn’t lazy, I was just exhausted. I’d spend my evenings cramming in everything I didn’t get to do during the day - gym, dinner, scrolling, TV, shower... suddenly it’s 11:30pm and I’m wide awake with a racing brain!

Sound familiar?

What finally changed things for me wasn’t motivation, it was reflection. I started questioning how I actually spend my evenings and swapped just one habit at a time for something that genuinely helped me wind down. No miracle routine. No “just go to bed earlier” guilt trips. Just tiny shifts that added up

Now I wake up feeling clearer, calmer and a just a tiny bit less like a swamp witch. Progress. 😅
