About a third of people with Parkinson's will go on to develop dementia - usually in the later stages. 🧠

Here are some of the symptoms that someone with Parkinson's with dementia may experience:
👉 Slowness of movement
👉 Tremors and shaking
👉 Problems with sleep and speech
👉 Forgetfulness
👉 Hallucinations and delusions
👉 Difficulty learning new things

As Parkinson's progresses, Parkinsonian symptoms may be experienced first, followed by cognitive changes.

There are so many helpful organisations out there that support individuals and their relatives with various health conditions.
We will always signpost clients and their families where we can to ensure they receive additional advice and support when needed.

They may help with:

🌟useful information about the condition and help to navigate specialist support
🌟helplines to have someone to talk to
🌟signposting to additional support networks
🌟various discussions, meetings, social gatherings,support groups and partnership working
🌟helpful resources
🌟not feeling alone 💜
🌟research and funding to look for better treatment and pioneering ways to a cure💜

Willow Care services works in partnerships with many organisations. We will share and highlight some of these amazing companies over the coming weeks. It may help someone who didn’t know that there was help out there. Please share 🙏you never know who may benefit from seeing this post.

Ensuring our clients can still access the local community is one of the many services we provide and is hugely important to the wellbeing of our clients.

Why? ⬇️

⭐️It aids to social interaction, physical activity, mental stimulation and a feeling of inclusion and helps reduce loneliness and isolation.⭐️

We had a lovely breakfast at Palmers Garden centre in Enderby today and the Christmas decorations were a delight to look at🎄.
