One thing you learn throughout holistic health, is that the body is a natural healer.
If we treat illness like a wound, that needs the right attention, some time to heal, the right conditions in the environment and some nourishment, I am certain that much illness can be reversed or contained.
We have lost the art of waiting for good because everything we want is at a click of a button. From form filling to sustenance, our details can be stored for quick results.
And so we have lost the patience in letting nature do its work with our bodies. We expect instant results. Here are my takeaways as a Muslim well-being therapist who practices Aafiyah Healing:
1. Check for spiritual afflictions: keeping a private life is key to not inviting negativity into your life. But we have to be better with our daily aadhkars and protective Duaas. It’s always a good idea to learn how to perform self ruqya and having someone who can check you for any spiritual issues.
2. Stress management: anxiety, depressed and chronic stress are the main reasons for illness. Skin conditions and anger/irritated with environment are parallel, as is tummy issues and anxiety. Learning how to manage your stress is key. An Aafiyah Practitioner can help you with this!
3. Releasing the past: it’s a place for learning from not living. It’s a very liberated feeling leaving the past in the past. See the Deep Trauma Release Masterclass.
4. Gut health: diet is so important in your healing journey. Our body thrives with the right gut bacteria so it is a good idea to start removing the toxins from your body with good food and detox.
5. Exercise and movement: a walk, run, jog all have one thing in common. It gets the heart pumping and releases endorphins elevating the feel good factor.
6. Nature: spending time in nature, connecting to the Earths natural sources of healing; sea, sand and soil, can reduce inflammation significantly.
7. Do more of what you love: by design, we were never meant to be shut away for hours serving corporate. We are happiest when our cups are full of doing things that bring us joy.
8. Check in with your emotions:keep in tune with your thoughts and see how it impacts your health. This is where journaling can really assist you. Once you become aware of your triggers it can help you make the necessary changes in your life.
