✨🥚 Our egg-speriment was a cracking success! 🥚✨

The children loved watching our egg and sparkler experiment today! It didn’t work the first time (science can be stubborn!), but we tried again—and it worked beautifully. 🎉
Our determined little egg now has its sparkly battle scar to prove it! 🔥
It was a wonderful reminder that curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to try again make learning truly exciting. 💛

We’re bringing wreathbmaking back again to nature with a hands-on session at our Forest School - where creativity meets the wild.

✨ Loughborough Fair magic ✨

This week we had a lovely little trip to the fair. We couldn’t get over how gorgeous the lights looked this year — everything glowing and full of colour. The atmosphere was amazing too, such a fun mix of energy and nostalgia. 🎡💛

Rides, treats, games… there’s something for every age. If the weather improves and you head down tomorrow, you’re in for a good one!

🌲🙂🙃6 Things your never too old for🙃🙂🌲

Sometimes the simplest moments outdoors become the ones our children remember most. Here are six small ways to reconnect with nature, with your child, and with your own sense of play:

1. 🌿Feeling a quiet joy when you find a cosy spot outdoors...a stump, a blanket on the grass, a patch of sunshine and sitting there with your child just to be.

2.🪵Balancing along a fallen tree and letting yourself wobble and laugh just like your little one beside you.

3.🐜Kneeling down in the grass to explore a bug hotel, a dandelion clock, or a stack of crunchy leaves getting close to nature at their level.

4.🌎Smearing a streak of mud on your cheek with pride - modelling curiosity over cleanliness.

5.🍎Enjoying a simple outdoor snack side by side...apples, crackers, raisins and savouring it slowly like a mini picnic adventure.

6.✨Wielding a stick as a staff, wand, or sword to join the imaginary quest proving that imagination is a family skill.

🌿 Let kids get dirty...it might make them healthier! 🧒🌱

In Finland, nurseries are rethinking outdoor play by swapping plastic playgrounds and sandpits for patches of forest floor filled with moss, soil and native plants. The results? Healthier kids. 💪🌳

Research found that children who played in these “mini-forests” had:
✨ Fewer harmful bacteria on their skin
✨ A richer gut microbiome
✨ Stronger immune systems... all in just a month! 🤯

It’s a powerful reminder that a little dirt can do a lot of good. Our connection with nature and the microbes in it... might just be key to building lifelong health. 🌎💚

As winter approaches, many forest schools take a seasonal pause... giving the land and their teams a well-deserved rest and adapting to the dip in bookings that often comes with colder weather.

At Into the Woods Forest School, we take a different path.
We believe that forest school should be accessible in all seasons and all weathers. 🍂❄️🌱☀️

Winter offers its own kind of wonder: the sparkle of frost on branches, the smell of woodsmoke, and the thrill of seeing your breath in the crisp air. These moments teach resilience, curiosity, and comfort in nature — lessons that are just as important as those learned under the summer sun.

🔥 To help everyone enjoy the magic of the woods through the colder months, we’re re-introducing our Winter Ticket - a shorter 1 hour session for just £5.
It’s perfect for our younger adventurers who might not be moving around as much and feel the chill a little faster (though we do tend to get the fire going sooner this time of year!).🔥

So while others rest, we’ll be here...wrapped up warm, exploring, creating and discovering the beauty of the woods in every season.

Because nature doesn’t close for winter and neither do we. 💚
