We continue with the 5S’s ✨MyEden series

👉Also known as: The 24-hour ⏰physical behaviours

👉 Here is the 5th & final ‘S’ which is 💪

❓Strengthening is any resistance exercise that makes the muscles work harder than usual.

ℹ️People do not need to go to gym to do perform strengthening exercises.

❓Strengthening exercises can have significant benefits on insulin sensitivity and glucose levels in but also on help maintain physical function 🤩

👉 Here is the 3rd ‘S’ which is stepping 👣

❓Who knew that an extra 500 steps per day could have such a positive effect on our health and management

It’s not just the amount of steps that’s important but also the speed or pace ⏰

👣Brisk walking 🚶 is defined as 100 steps per minute or more & is beneficial

❓Who knew that prolonged sitting could have such effect on our health and specifically management

Sitting for more than 9.5 hours per day is associated with worse outcomes.

How many hours per day do you sit for?

Although we might not be able to change our job to a more active one, we could make try and break our sitting every 30-60 mins ⏱️
