"That was more relaxing than any spa I have ever been too"

Do you make time to rest, relax and rejuvenate?

Always short on time?

You'd be surprised at just how much difference a single Soundbath can make!
Through the healing power of sound, sound baths help us achieve a deep relaxation of body and mind, improving our mood, mentality, and well-being.

What are Sound Baths?
Simply put, sound baths are a form of sound therapy achieved through the emission of rhythms, vibrations, and frequencies. This promotes a transition from an active beta brain wave state to alpha and even theta brain wave state. This allows the body to fully relax - affecting the nervous system, slowing the heart rate down, lowering blood pressure and reducing stress and tension in the body. The body can then go into a self-healing mode and boost the immune system.
The soundwaves produced by sound bowls pe*****te the tissues in the human body due to our high content of water (70-80%) in our system. The pleasant vibrations of the sound bowls resulting in a tissue massage within the body.

In restorative yoga we learn to relax all muscular effort, allow our body to land on the earth completely and our breath to flow freely.
Then, if we find that we are still holding ourselves up somewhere, we relax all over again… and again… and again..
So the actual effort involved in restorative yoga is the willingness to look at how and where we are holding tension. And to learn to meet our tension with curiosity, patience, and kindness.
This skill of Conscious Relaxation is at the heart of Restorative Yoga.
Discovering where and how we hold tension helps us find room for change, so that tension won't
limit our physical, emotional, and mental wellness and our comfort in our body.
In addition, the grounding; complete, full breathing;
and quietness of restorative yoga help us elicit the relaxation response, a neurological response that tells us we are safe, pulls us out of "flight or fight"
mode, and initiates the body's self-healing process.
This bolsters the systems of long-term health and healing, including digestion, elimination,
reproduction, growth and repair, and immunity.
The profound effect that restorative yoga has on my students (and myself!) fuels my passion and
dedication for helping others experience and develop skills in these healing practices.

Rest and accept
Do you remember the feeling of being truly relaxed;your body soft, warm and supple? Do you recall feeling so comfortable in your own skin that you hardly notice your physical body?
And what about that laid-back feeling of watching everything from a distance with a big smile on your face, knowing beyond a doubt that everything is okay, exactly as it is? In this state, you know that life
is just as it is; that there is nothing to accept or reject.
Do you remember what it is like to rest in your true nature? To know that you are not separate from life. The true meaning of yoga is to experience self and union of mind and body.
To see through the illusion of being a separate being.
To see that we are all made out of the same energy, which is the ground of all being.
For me, Restorative yoga is a wonderful way of accessing deep relaxation; of understanding that sometimes doing nothing (resting in the now) can be
one of the most powerful, supporting and healing practices of all.

After another beautiful Soundbath last night I thought I’d explain why I end the sessions using The Koshi Chime.

Koshi chimes are tuned to the four elements, earth, water, wind and fire

Each element is focused on different aspects of spiritual healing.

Air – provokes expansion of the mind and lightness

Earth – creates a sense of stability and security

Water – focuses on balancing emotions, purity, and cleansing

Fire chime – focuses on creativity, energy, and letting dense inner anger blow away like smoke

The specific vibrations created through the sound waves are thought to release stress, relieve anxiety, and help with insomnia when absorbed by the body… they have also been known to ward off any negative energies…

So this is why each person is bathed in a koshi chime at the end of the session.

I’d like to thank all of those who practiced with me last night.

So why do I use Palo Santo in all my classes??
For centuries the indigenous people of the Andes have been using palo santo for spiritual purification and energy cleansing. When the wood is burned it’s believed to clear negative energy, restore tranquility into your space.

It also welcomes creativity, love, and good fortune into your space. The wood can help brighten energy and promote feelings of positivity and joy. The scent is also shown to reduce stress and anxiety, and enhance clarity and concentration.

We live in a culture of the
glorification of doing doing doing. If you're not doing,
"you're not getting the best out of life" or "you're not
living up to your potential" (this last one always makes me roll my eyes)We often forget that the magic is in be-ing and from a place of being the inspired doing will be activated. To connect more to yourself and that state of be-ing,it's important to take regular rest. This rest is as
productive as being productive by doing. It's the yin to the yang that is important to create holistic balance within our soul/spirit.
So whenever you feel guilty for taking rest and connecting to self or not being productive doing all the things, remind yourself that it's rest that will always balance you out and provide even more
sustainable energy in your life to pursue & live your wildest dreams

Is Yoga good for men?
The stereotypical view of a yoga class is anything but masculine.
Ethereal music, scented oils, gentle movements, softly spoken teachers, it’s little wonder that for the past few decades at least, yoga studios have been predominantly filled with ladies, whilst men have been more drawn to activities where they can exert their masculinity through more extreme tests of their body, like the Crossfit box or endurance running.

But not only are the original roots of yoga actually very much in the male domain, but there are a whole host of very real and powerful benefits of yoga for men today that can derive by spending more time on the yoga mat, as an ever-growing new generation of male yogis is discovering.
So, yes, yoga is good for men, for the following compelling reasons.
- flexibility and mobility
- All over body strength and conditioning
- Focus and full body awareness
- Correct years of imbalance and prevent injuries
- Reduce stress
- Improve digestion
- Enhance brain function
- Get better sleep
- Enjoy better s*x
- Feel good high

Healing through the power of Soundbathing Every Sunday 7.45pm in stoneygate, Leicester.

Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing style of yoga practice. This is a receptive practice, not an active practice. Unlike the more active types of Yoga, poses flow into one another, restorative yoga poses they are held from 5 to 15 minutes.
During this time you are held in shapes which are being supported with blankets blocks pillows posters. In restorative yoga the body and the mind are bought into balance. When you practice this type of yoga you enter into a deep state of deep relaxation.
It is here that you can let go of those deep holding patterns in your body and find a state of balance that will allow your body to heal.

We often forget that sometimes we need to just take time to relax we are not a human “doings” we are human beings.
And it seems rest has lost its value in this over stimulating world where stress and anxiety thrive!
