This grey September morning casts my mind back to the joyful warm days of two summers ago. Walking along a path in my village, we were soaking up the beautiful sky blue of a long row of cornflowers. 💙

A few months before, this area was desperate of some love. The trees and shrubs had been removed for a new development, leaving the land looking sad. ❤️‍🩹

I decided to plant flowers with the help of a beloved friend. I had some baby cornflowers grown from seed, and knew they would be perfect. They are beautiful, non-invasive and would provide bees and other flying friends with both nectar and pollen. 🐝 💡

Watching the bees dip in and out of the flowers, filled us with absolute joy and we weren't the only ones - every person that walked by had a smile on their face. Perhaps it was the flowers, perhaps it was the bees, or perhaps our grins were just infectious! 😄

There are so many ways of feeling joyful and the simple act of planting flowers, is definitely one of mine. And when that joy spreads, I can feel it expand a hundredfold. ❤️‍🔥
