“The exercises have helped ease some of the pain in my feet.” 👣

Carl Rowley, 49, from Broughton Astley, is one of the 4.4 million people in the UK living with type 2 diabetes.

In 2019, Carl had his big toe on his right foot amputated. Then in early 2021, he was diagnosed with Charcot foot — a serious foot complication caused by nerve damage.

Carl joined a research study to help manage the pain in his feet.
He said:

“My experience of taking part in the study was very pleasant – everyone involved is very friendly. And the exercises really helped ease some of the pain.”

By taking part in research, Carl has taken steps towards better foot health, and contributed to improving future treatments for others.

✨ Clinical trials are how we discover new medications, therapies and better ways to care for people, but we need volunteers.
