Bless and 83year old lady finding it painful to walk because of this. Hard skin built up on the end of her toe which had bled under the skin. On removal and treatment, she was in verge of the area having ulcerated. Well done to daughter for getting her seen!!

OUR GOLDEN OLDER FOLKS!!
The effects of lockdown have been harsh especially for our older loved ones and worse still for our older loved ones that have been asked to shield. They have followed the rules and instructions diligently and without complaint. This has been absolutely necessary to protect them and we don’t think anyone would disagree. We are finding though a lot of these are having huge problems with their feet among other issues (feet being our area of concern), long long, thickened and in a lot of cases painful nails. Hard skin and corns again painful, infections and even ulcerations. They don’t complain as their generation dictates they just battle through and do as told and advised.
So a plea from us........
Please, please check the feet of particularly our older folk, mums, dads, grannies, grandads, aunts, uncles...... make sure they don’t need help and if they do then please let’s get this help for them.
We hope this month to post some pics and stories of what we are seeing (with our patients permission obviously) and we will be following this up in July with reward offers for those booking in their older folks.
Let’s look after the ones that have looked after us all our lives.
