In June I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, so naturally I’ve been researching ways to feel more in tune with my body. An underactive thyroid affects way more than just metabolism; impacting sleep, energy, training, diet, AND even your cycle.

For me, it’s meant:
🧘‍♀️ Moving from heavy lifting → yoga, Pilates, walking, martial arts
💤 Struggling with sleep + recovery
🍽 Eating for energy + blood sugar balance instead of just calories
🔄 Syncing my workouts with my cycle

After some research on what other people experience whilst taking Levothyroxine and suffering with thyroid issues, I’ve had to figure out what works for me through trial and error and there’s still a lot to learn! I know so many of my clients also experiencing similar symptoms and the daily impact it has is not spoken about enough 📢

Yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️✨

This style of exercise has been shown to enhance proprioception, increase muscle elasticity and loosen tight joints which is crucial for injury prevention and recovery. By improving balance, strength, and flexibility, it helps reduce the risk of common injuries. Additionally, the mindful movements can aid in rehabilitation, promoting better alignment and muscle engagement. Regular yoga practice can be a great approach to maintaining general health as well as taking that moment for yourself around your busy life!

There are different styles of yoga practice and most classes can be tailored to suit current injuries. It can allow the rest of your body to move and circulate blood, even when you’re out of your usual sports due to a musculoskeletal injury 🏃🏼‍♀️

A massive thankyou to all my clients for keeping me so busy in clinic - October marks 15 months of business!

With no price increases in the last 15 months, there will be some changes to the costs of appointments, please see above for the full price list.

My main goal is to keep treatment for your injuries as affordable as possible so that more people have to opportunity to live pain free. Thankyou for understanding!

Any appointments already booked will remain at the old pricing, all new appointments are at the prices above.

Nutrition 🥯🥩🫐🥗🍉🐟

Trying to maintain a balanced and healthy diet can be hard to navigate, from experience of constantly wanting to reach for the ‘easy’ option (which are usually the high in sugar snacks or meals), I have been working on making some quick and easy meals that incorporate a variety of different foods consisting of lots of protein, fibre, fruit and veg! Every section of nutrition is important and everything can be consumed with moderation and portion control.

Focusing on gut health and boosting energy levels, I’ve found that tuning into my body’s needs, regular movement, and exercise are key. While I don’t track calories or macros, I plan nourishing meals that align with my well-being goals. Remember, what works for one may not suit another, depending on individual health and fitness goals.

Reminder that this is not what my plate looks like every single day, it’s important to allow yourself to enjoy a treat, meal out or takeaway at home - this is what balance is all about! 🍔🍦

So many people across the world suffer with plantar fasciitis, this is a condition caused by repetitive strain or overuse of the thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes. Other factors like improper footwear, tight calf muscles, obesity, and high arches can also contribute to the development of plantar fasciitis. It’s important to address these factors and take steps to prevent and manage the condition.

Dry needling is a technique used to treat plantar fasciitis, a common condition causing heel pain. It involves inserting thin needles into specific trigger points in the foot muscles to relieve tension and promote healing. By targeting these trigger points, dry needling helps to reduce pain, improve blood flow, and release tightness in the plantar fascia. This can lead to decreased inflammation, increased mobility, and ultimately, a faster recovery! 😌🦶💉
