Workplace anxiety doesn’t always look obvious.

It can show up as overthinking every decision.

Replaying conversations.

Feeling pressure to always perform.

And even when the day ends… your mind doesn’t switch off.

This isn’t just “stress” - it’s your nervous system staying in a heightened state.

With the right support, it’s possible to feel calmer, clearer and more in control again.

If work is starting to feel overwhelming, support is available - message us to learn more.

Your anxiety can arrive before anything has actually gone wrong.

It shows up in small, familiar ways.

That feeling on a Sunday evening
when you start thinking about the week ahead.

The tension as you walk into work
before anything has even happened.

That moment before you check your phone
where your body already feels braced.

This is anticipatory anxiety.

Not anxiety about what’s happening now
but about what might happen next.

And for many high-performing women, it becomes so normal
it just feels like “being prepared.”

Staying ahead. Thinking things through. Being responsible.

But often, it’s something else.

It’s your nervous system scanning for problems
before they exist.

A pattern that likely helped you at some point
but now keeps you slightly on edge, even when things are okay.

That feeling in your chest isn’t always a warning.

Sometimes it’s just a reflection of how your system has learned to operate.

And patterns like that can change.

If this feels familiar, I’d be interested to hear what moments you notice it most 💬

Some of the most capable people carry the most invisible pressure.

They look calm.
But internally, they’re holding a lot.

Responsibility, expectations, and the sense of always needing to stay on top of things.

Over time, that becomes a constant state of alertness.

And that’s where exhaustion starts.

30/04/2026

As people become more capable, more is expected of them.

More responsibility.
More reliance.
More pressure.

And alongside that comes a quieter form of anxiety.

The pressure to keep delivering at that level.

Performance anxiety.
Boundary anxiety.
Transition anxiety.

When I share these, most women can immediately recognise themselves in at least one.

Sometimes all three.

What’s interesting is that they’re not just “types” of anxiety.

Each one is your nervous system trying to protect you in a different way.

From failure.
From conflict.
From the unknown.

And at some point in your life, that protection made sense.

It likely helped you succeed.

The difficulty is… your system doesn’t always update as quickly as you do.

So even though you now have more experience, more awareness, more choice
your body can still react as if you don’t.

That’s where the tension comes from.

Not because something is wrong
but because something hasn’t caught up yet.

If you were to reflect on it, which one feels most familiar for you right now?

A lot of high-performing women expect success to bring relief.

But when they reach it, something feels… off.

Not broken. Not dramatic.

Just tired. Or flat.

This is often linked to burnout and chronic nervous system stress.

Because success doesn’t automatically calm a system
that has been bracing for years.

Ever notice how your body is tired…

but your mind won’t stop?

Replaying conversations.

Thinking about tomorrow.

Running through “what ifs.”

This happens because your nervous system hasn’t fully come out of stress mode.

For many professionals, especially in high-pressure environments, the mind stays “on” long after work ends.

It’s not something you’re doing wrong - it’s something your system has learned.

And with the right support, it can learn something new.

If switching off feels difficult, we can help you find calm again - get in touch to learn more.

You can know exactly why you feel anxious…
and still feel it.

That’s the part people don’t talk about enough.

I speak to so many women who are incredibly self-aware.

They can tell you their triggers.
Explain where it comes from.
Notice it happening in real time.

And yet their body still reacts.

The racing heart.
The tension.
That feeling of bracing before something even happens.

It can feel defeating.

Like “I’ve done the work… so why am I still feeling this way?”

But this isn’t a failure of insight.

It’s the difference between understanding something
and your nervous system actually updating.

Because anxiety doesn’t sit in your thoughts.

It sits in your body.
In patterns that were learned when they made sense.

And those patterns don’t shift just because you understand them.

They shift when your system starts to feel safe again.

That’s a very different process to just thinking differently.

If this resonates, I’d love to hear your experience with it 💬

Your anxiety might not be the problem you think it is.

A lot of the women I speak to assume something is “wrong” with them because they can’t switch off.

The overthinking.
The constant mental preparation.
That tight feeling in your chest before something important.

But when we look a little deeper, it usually makes sense.

At some point, your system learned that being on high alert was useful.

That thinking ahead kept you safe.
That being prepared protected you from mistakes.
That staying in control made you valuable.

So it kept doing it.

The problem is… it hasn’t updated.

What once helped you succeed
now just feels like constant pressure.

That doesn’t mean you’re broken.

It means your nervous system is running an old pattern.

And patterns can change.

If this resonates, I’d be really interested to know
what shows up most for you right now 💬

So many women appear confident on the outside…

while quietly battling self-doubt on the inside.

Second-guessing decisions.

Holding back in meetings.

Wondering if they’re “good enough.”

Confidence isn’t about forcing yourself to act differently.

It’s about changing how you see yourself at a deeper level.

If you’re ready to feel more confident in your career, Dee is here to support you - message us to get started.

The anxiety isn’t always because you can’t cope.

Sometimes it’s because you’ve become very good at being someone…
you’ve quietly outgrown.

On paper, everything looks right.
You’re capable, reliable, successful.

But underneath, something feels off.

A kind of restlessness.
Disconnection.
That feeling of lying awake at night wondering why it doesn’t feel the way you thought it would.

What I see a lot, especially with high-performing women,
is that this isn’t about stress.

It’s about identity.

The version of you that learned how to succeed
isn’t the same version of you that wants to live your life now.

And your nervous system can feel that gap.

So it creates that low-level anxiety.
Not because something is wrong…
but because something is changing.

You don’t need to fix yourself.
You need space to evolve.

That’s a very different kind of work.

If this resonates, I’d love to hear your thoughts 💬
