I love this! I much appreciate having a day to myself today after such a busy time lately. It can feel selfish to do but is so important! Ah …peace 🙏

Without solitude, Love will not stay long by your side.

Because Love needs to rest, so that it can journey through the heavens and reveal itself in other forms.

Without solitude, no plant or animal can survive, no soil can remain productive, no child can learn about life, no artist can create, no work can grow and be transformed.

Solitude is not the absence of Love, but its complement.

Solitude is not the absence of company, but the moment when our soul is free to speak to us and help us decide what to do with our life.

Therefore, blessed are those who do not fear solitude, who are not afraid of their own company, who are not always desperately looking for something to do, something to amuse themselves with, something to judge.

If you are never alone, you cannot know yourself.

And if you do not know yourself, you will begin to fear the void.

It is interesting this should pop up in my feed today. I’ve had several clients recently for whom curcumin has been highlighted through muscle response testing as being what their bodies most need.
This report helps explain why!

Of all the anti-inflammatory agents, curcumin, found in the bright yellow pigment in turmeric, has the most positive evidence. It has been known about and used medicinally for thousands of years.

What has really brought curcumin-rich supplements into the spotlight is the discovery of ways to enhance its absorption into the bloodstream.

Typically, when ground turmeric is eaten there is very little increase in available curcumin in the bloodstream. However a new generation of supplements has increased absorption at least a hundred fold.

Plenty of studies show it works as well as anti-inflammatory drugs, but without the side effects. Like NSAIDs, it blocks the formation of the pro-inflammatory prostaglandins (PGE2), as well as leukotrienes. In fact, it turns out to be what everyone hoped drugs like Vioxx would be (a mild 5-Lox and Cox-2 inhibitor that not does not affect Cox-1).

There is no evidence of any downsides, even in high doses of 8g a day. It also mops up nitric oxide (another inflammatory mediator) and is a powerful anti-oxidant. In addition, it has been shown to promote detoxification. A review of Turmeric in the Journal of Clinical Immunology states that curcumin at low doses can also enhance antibody responses.

This suggests that curcumin’s reported beneficial effects in arthritis, allergies, asthma, atherosclerosis, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and cancer, might be due in part to its ability to modulate the immune system and dampen down inflammation.

It's nearly 18 months since this programme was due to be aired on Channel 4, following the journeys of 6 volunteers who each took a different approach to improving their health by starting with a focus on their gut.

One of the volunteers did the 21-day Gut Microbiome Reset programme using the Purify Kit from Synergy Worldwide, supported by a fellow team member. This programme has proved very successful with my clients and here is a great opportunity for you to see how this lady got on.

You can watch it on Channel 4 Tonight, Tuesday 3rd August, at 8pm.

We're blessed with a beautiful Supermoon today.

Our Full Moon in Capricorn graces us at 11:39am PDT. It will also be our last Supermoon of 2021.

This is a turning point.

Full Moons always bring endings. You are most likely closing the chapter on at least one aspect of your life.

The Universe is pushing you in a new direction. Perhaps on a path unknown to you.

You are heading into unchartered waters.

Your inner transformation had led you to expand your horizons. Most likely because you felt constricted by your circumstances.

This is the nature of the Saturn-Uranus square that is the defining transit of 2021.

Your structures are being rebuilt to prepare you for more freedom. Yet, the building of those structures requires great discipline.

Capricorn, the sign our spectacular Supermoon, is ruled by Saturn. Saturn teaches you to build your dreams step by step.

All you need to do is put one foot in front of the other. Soon, you will be on top of the mountain.

Wherever you are on your journey, remember to look up at the sky full of stars.

Have a beautiful day.

I’m a big fan of reducing food waste & the Thermomix definitely helps with that. Even being able to search the Cookidoo platform on a single ingredient for inspirational ways to use them up before they go off is a major plus!

Now, I’ve just discovered this new recipe collection, which takes zero waste to a whole new level. I often add broccoli stems to soups & onion skins to stock and have several recipes to use up the pulp from my homemade almond milk but it’s great to have some new recipes to try!

I can’t find anyone willing to try the banana peel ‘pulled pork’ burgers though. Would you? 🤔 Link to the recipe in the comments...

If you are curious about the Thermomix and would like to see what all the fuss is about, pop along to my informal demo on zoom this evening to see it in action and have your questions answered.

How is it possible that one machine can perform so many different functions? Yes, it really does chop, blend, grind, mill, weigh, saute, stir-fry, steam, warm up, boil, thicken, stir, slow cook, and ferment and then wash itself up afterwards!

This is not just another piece of kitchen equipment that sits in a cupboard waiting for an occasional outing! All the thermomix owners I know use them multiple times every single day and wish they had discovered them sooner!

Find out why we are so passionate about them. Whether you love to cook, hate to cook or just don’t have time to cook, the thermomix really can help change your life!

Follow the link in the comments to register and you will receive your zoom link by email.
