Congratulations to Claire Bryan, who is the first UHL midwife to receive two DAISY awards in honour of her ‘gold standard’ compassionate care.

Claire, who has worked for UHL since 2004 and helped to established our home birth service in 2017, was described by her nominators as a ‘professional friend’ and ‘an asset to the midwifery profession’, who provided ‘the best experience’ for the people in her care.

She said: “I'm honoured to receive another DAISY award, and to be part of an incredible team of midwives.”

We have several students working with us over the summer period. Our senior students are caseholding ( taking on the lead role of caring under the support of a midwife and being involved for as much of the pregnancy, birth and postnatal period as possible, for women and families who consent to this ) and junior students are working alongside our midwives. Thank you for welcoming them and helping us develop and grow the midwives of the future.
