Chronic Illness: Could It Be CIRS?

Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) is considered to be a progressive, multi-system, multi-symptom illness characterised by exposure to biotoxins, including mould. This is a condition which is not yet considered to be mainstream and has not had peer reviewed research from an allopathic medical perspective.

Most of the patients who suffer from CIRS have multiple symptoms and have seen multiple doctors, to no avail. Standard tests are usually normal. However in such situations it is always very important for doctors and patients to ensure that main medical conditions and diagnoses have been excluded before addressing a potential CIRS situation.

Patients with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) may report symptoms of memory loss, mood disorders, brain fog, loss of executive function and/or fatigue. They are reportedly often misdiagnosed as having depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, allergies, fibromyalgia, or chronic fatigue syndrome.

We give patients a thorough evaluation to exclude any traditional diagnoses, and work with a new laboratory in the UK to test more accurately for CIRS. Once diagnosed, there is a 12 step process called the Shoemaker protocol, for treatment.

Functional Medicine is a personalized approach for patients, dealing with the primary prevention and underlying causes of Chronic Disease. It is a science-based field of health care. It involves a full understanding of the biochemistry of the body and allows us to understand fully your body chemistry right down to it’s genes. This can be used along side traditional medicine to diagnose and treat a wide variety of symptoms and illnesses. Functional medicine gets to the root of the problem and can help in all kinds of situations, and in some cases as an alternative to drug based therapy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are You At Risk?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Research estimates that 70-90% of the risk of Chronic Diseases can be attributed to lifestyle. This means that what you eat, how you exercise, what your spiritual practises are, and how much stress you have in your life, may increase your risk of Chronic Disease.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Common Chronic Diseases⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Diet, overweight, lack of exercise and smoking account for over 70% of stroke and colon cancer, 80% of coronary heart disease, and over 90% of adult-onset diabetes.(Willet,WC.Science,2002:296,695-697)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How Do We Use Functional Medicine In Order To Help Our Patients?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There is a lot we can do to help our bodies prevent disease and assist in healing, but we must also remember ill health can happen to any of us. Therefore, it is important to stay on top of monitoring your health and ensure that you see your doctor if you are worried at all.

Different people have different symptoms of breast cancer. Some people do not have any signs or symptoms at all.

Some warning signs of breast cancer are;

-New lump in the breast or underarm (armpit).
-Thickening or swelling of part of the breast.
-Irritation or dimpling of breast skin.
Redness or flaky skin in the ni**le area or the breast.
-Pulling in of the ni**le or pain in the ni**le area.
-Ni**le discharge other than breast milk, including blood.
-Any change in the size or the shape of the breast.
-Pain in any area of the breast.
-Keep in mind that these symptoms can happen with other conditions that are not cancer.

It is best to get checked and not worry than to ignore any of these signs.

After all, we need to look after our bodies as our first priority to live a long and truly healthy life.

Autism Post-Assessment Services

We offer holistic multidisciplinary support for young people with an autism spectrum disorder, or related special developmental needs.

Our therapists work together to support all areas of your child’s developmental needs, including appropriate support for your child’s family and school.

Our holistic Autism, Aspergers & ASD assessment is our recommended starting point to clarify your child’s developmental needs. As part of the ASD assessment, our Neurodiversity Team may identify specific areas where your child may benefit from a focussed intervention detailed below.

Private GP’s autism post-assessment services include speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, counselling, and functional medicine. These services are available for any young person with direct concerns relating to these specific areas.

Request an autism test by calling us on 01162700373 or email info@privategp.com via .app
