Never “EASY”. just “EASIER”

Weight loss shouldn't feel like a constant battle.

It should not be filled with with misery and restriction.

But there WILL be occasions where you find yourself not wanting to do the thing that you planned on doing.

Like getting out of bed on time so you can get a walk in before work.

Or working out when you don't feel like it.

Or turning off Netflix after just ONE show because you're trying to get more sleep.

This is normal. Nobody ever said this would be effortless.

And to repeat what I said - this should not be happening all the time. If this is the case, there's a good chance your plan isn't a suitable one for you.

But it WILL happen from time to time.

If you DO manage to overcome that resistance, you won't regret it. In fact, you'll probably get an extra BOOST of motivation from the feeling of accomplishment you'll inevitably experience. 🙌🏽

4 tips to think about before starting your fitness journey 🧠

Tip number #1.
It's a marathon not a sprint.
Don't think about short term quick fixes. These will not work long term so what the point in doing it. You may lose weight pretty quickly on a fad diet or something but as soon as you return to your "normal eating habits" the weight will return.
Think of the here and now. Work on daily habits, weekly tasks and your weekly wins to see you through to your end goal. Think slow and steady and change things that can be sustainable more longer term. Slow & steady wins the race

Tip number #2
Don't be too strict with yourself and cut out your favourite foods you enjoy.
This will make you feel like crap and can be quite isolating if you stop being social with your friends and family because you are dieting.
Have fun throughout your journey. "Let your hair down" as people always say.

Tip number #3
Listen to your body. Be aware of injuries, niggles, tiredness.
Rest when you need to.
Work on improving the niggles and recovery from the injuries don't ignore them when they arise.
Over doing things can lead to burn out and also you can be more at be risk of falling ill if your immune system gets knocked a little. Again listen to your body don't ignore the signs it gives you.

Tip number #4
Learn more about self awareness.
Caring for your emotional state is so important. We sweep this under the rug majority of the time but being in a good mental state and mindset will do wonders for your overall health and fitness journey.
Having a good exercise routine can do amazing things mentally not just physically. (Read this again) 👈🏽

One key factor for progress…

Is consistency.

When you are new to starting your health and fitness journey don't overwhelm yourself with trying to change too many things all at once.

Do it in stages because then you'll be able to sustain this a lot longer so for example - start with just getting exercise into your weekly routine
Then after that you could perhaps look at your water intake and so on.

Exercise should be enjoyable and not hell so find something that's manageable that you can stick to
