As this year comes to a close, I just want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you.

I saw my first ever private client in August 2023, and 2 years later (after my second maternity leave when my daughter was born), my little business has had it's most successful year!!

The industry is heavily saturated with counsellors, so to every client who trusted me with your story, your healing, your growth - THANK YOU for choosing me and allowing me to walk alongside you. It really is a privilege to witness your courage, resilience, and commitment to yourself.

This year I have seen a much broader array of clients, some of whom have been going through some really dark and scary times. This year really has reminded me why I do this work. I’m deeply grateful for each conversation, each breakthrough, and each moment of trust.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m so proud of the work you’ve done, and I look forward to continuing it together in the year ahead, whilst also welcoming even more new clients ✨

2026 is going to be even bigger and better for my business - due to the serious juggle of running a second business and looking after my 2 young children, I've unfortunately not yet been able to complete my training in couples therapy.

But it's on my agenda for 2026, in addition to advanced training in Pregnancy and Infant Loss (thank you 2025 for the Business Grant I was given that enabled me to purchase this extra training!).

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. And if it doesn't feel like a 'Happy' New Year for you right now....remember it's a chance to reflect, reset and make different decisions in your life.

It's a new chapter and you are in charge of what's written on those pages. So go for it - you've absolutely got this!

Have a good one everyone and I'll see you in 2026. 💞✨

I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to my clients, for continuing to choose me as your therapist. 🙏🏻

I still feel gobsmacked every time I receive a new enquiry - when someone chooses little old me to be a part of their story it really is such an honour and a privilege. It's been the busiest year yet for my little business and I'm so grateful. 🥹

You have all worked so hard in the therapy room this year and I have witnessed such growth and strength in all of you. 💫

For many of you, for different reasons, Christmas is a particularly triggering and poignant time of year. So I'm here to remind you that it's just another day, just like today was. So spend it however you like, and do whatever will bring you the most joy... 🤗

A bubble bath, no alarm or busy schedules, reading a book, watching movies all day, seeing a friend, sleeping, doing a face mask, exercising.... 🛁📖🛌🏼🔕👭🍿🏃🏼‍♀️

Whatever small activities or moments will bring a little joy to your day - go for it! Forget the societal expectations and pressure that it has to be a 'perfect' day - it absolutely doesn't!

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas and I'm looking forward to continuing to be a part of your journey, and welcoming even more new clients in 2026! 🎄🗓

Exciting things will be happening in the business, in the coming year too so watch this space 👀✨💕

So many of us give, give, give… until there’s nothing left for ourselves.
But exhaustion isn’t a badge of honour - it’s a sign that your needs matter too.

When you slow down, rest, and refill your cup, you don’t become less for others…
you become more present, more patient, and more you.

💛 Today’s gentle reminder:
Pause. Breathe. Choose one small thing that nourishes you.
Your well-being is not selfish - it’s essential.

If you’re realising your cup has been empty for a long time, you don’t have to refill it alone.

I’m here when you’re ready. 🌿

Be the person who breaks the cycle!

Healing doesn’t mean the past never happened - it means it no longer controls you.

You are the cycle breaker.

The change-maker.

The one who said, ‘It ends with me.’ 💫

Ready to break the cycles in your family? Message me to enquire about counselling sessions, which will help you to heal, and give you the strength to break those unwanted patterns 💖

✨✨✨✨THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!✨✨✨✨

Emma Mahil Counselling has been awarded a £3000 grant from the Sir Thomas White Loan Charity.🤩💫

The application had to be in by 3.30pm on the 25th August. By Tuesday 2nd September I was emailed to say that my application had been successful! And by Thursday 4th September the full £3000 was in my business bank account! 😲

The charity have a £50k grant available, and each business was able to apply for a maximum of £5000.

113 businesses applied and only 24 were successful, with Emma Mahil Counselling being one of them! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I honestly can't believe how quick and efficient the whole process was, and I am just so thankful to the board of trustees, for believing in my business and understanding the positive impact that it will have on the local, and wider community! 🥰

The money I have received is going to be utilised for the following:

✨ Advanced training in Pregnancy and Infant Loss through the Foundation for Infant Loss
✨ Advanced training in Couples Therapy - specifically Domestic Violence, Su***de Risk, Infidelity and Substance Misuse in Relationships
✨ Marketing in local newsletters and paid advertising on Social Media, to reach a wider audience and be able to help more clients in need of mental health support
✨ Support with website development
✨ Office equipment and stationery, to offer a more professional service for remote clients in particular
✨ Additional room hire, to offer more face to face sessions in the local area of North Leicestershire

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU you again to the Sir Thomas White Loan Charity for this incredible opportunity 🤍. Well done to all of the other businesses who were awarded their grant, and good luck to those who apply next year! 🙏

What to say and what not to say, to someone who has experienced a Pregnancy or Infant Loss....

This is SUCH a traumatic loss for any parent to go through. It is so difficult to find the right words to say, but it's crucial that you don't just blurt out the wrong words, as you may end up making them feel so much worse, even though you had the best intentions.🥲

If you or anyone you know has experienced a recent loss and need someone to talk to, I have specialist training in supporting people in this area and I'd be privileged to help.

Message me privately for more information, or to book an introductory call with me...

Today Emma Mahil Counselling turns 2 years old! 💛

I couldn't be prouder of my little business and even 2 years in, it just doesn't feel like work! I still have to pinch myself every day that this is my 'job'.🥹

Two years of listening without judgement, walking alongside people through life’s challenges, and witnessing so many beautiful moments of growth and courage.

I’m deeply grateful to every client who’s trusted me with their story, every supporter who’s cheered me on, and every challenge that’s helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Life with 2 kids and another business has got in the way of my studies a little bit, but soon I will be qualified to offer Couples Counselling! Watch this space! 👀

Here’s to many more years of making a difference - one conversation at a time. 💬✨

NEW 5* REVIEW!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This means the absolute world to me and my little Counselling Practice.🥰

Doing what I do just does not feel like work! Building therapeutic relationships with my clients and watching them evolve and flourish is just the best feeling. I genuinely have to pinch myself that this is my reality sometimes.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!🫶🫶🫶

Tips to improve your self-esteem...

1) Challenge your negative thoughts.💭
The more self-awareness you have about how you talk to yourself, the easier it is to challenge your thoughts and change them to more positive ones!

2) Surround yourself with positive people 💃🏻
Positivity breeds positivity! Get connected with people who lift you up and inspire you!

3) Celebrate your success 🏆
No matter how big or small, always celebrate your wins!

4) Don't compare yourself to others 🙅‍♀️
Comparison is the thief of joy! Everyone is on their own journey so it's a pointless task trying to compare yourself to them

5) Get your body moving...🤸🏻‍♀️
Get the endorphins flowing - it's inevitable they will make you feel good!

6) Create boundaries ✋🏻
You don't need anything in life that doesn't serve you well - so be firm and put your boundaries in, and stick to them!

7) Accept compliments from others 🥰
This is one of the hardest and takes practice - but I promise you it works! The more you accept compliments instead of challenging them, the more you start to believe they are true!

8) Positive self-talk 🗣
Talk to yourself kindly, in the same way you would speak to a friend who needed support

If you’re on the fence about booking a chat with me about boosting your income, this post is for you!

Here are the most common objections people have when hearing about my service…

❌1) “But there has to be a catch - it sounds too good to be true!”
I get it, and I thought the same... But it’s REAL and TRUE - my monthly commission statements & all the customers I’ve helped save money so far are the proof!

❌2) “But I don’t have time, I’m way too busy...”
I hear you. I’m busy too! I’m juggling 2 young kids & another business... But this literally fits into pockets of your day, alongside your kids, your full time job, your hobbies etc..
If you want it badly enough, you’ll find the time.

❌3) “It sounds like a dodgy pyramid scheme...”
It’s absolutely not! UW is a well established (25 years!), FTSE 250 company! They are regulated by Ofgem and have won 80+ awards!
We earn by switching customers over to UW, to save them money & time on their household bills.

❌4) “I don’t know anything about Utilities...”
No problem! Neither did I! You will be mentored every step of the way and there’s amazing, free training available regularly!

I want you to know, if you have a question or a worry, my DM’s are open! 💬
