As parents, we often know when something feels “off” with our teenager — even when they insist they’re fine.
Anxiety in teens doesn’t always look the way people expect. It isn’t always panic attacks or obvious distress. Sometimes it shows up more quietly… mood changes, withdrawal, irritability, avoiding school or social situations, trouble sleeping, physical complaints, or constantly overthinking everything.
You may notice they seem overwhelmed more easily, lose confidence, become unusually emotional, or start pulling away from the things they once enjoyed.
It can be hard to know whether it’s typical teenage behaviour, stress, or something deeper — but trusting your instincts matters.
The earlier anxiety is recognised, the sooner support can make a real difference.
I work with teenagers in a calm, supportive, non-judgemental way to help them understand what they’re feeling, regain confidence, and develop tools to manage anxiety more effectively.
If you’re noticing signs that your teenager may be struggling, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Sometimes, the biggest step is simply recognising they may need support.
