Health is not a glowing score in an app.

It’s your capacity to function in the real world.
To move, cope, recover, adapt and stay independent as long as possible.

Yes, tests and biomarkers can sometimes be useful. But turning health into a subscription-based self-monitoring project?
Some people might call that cashing in on an audience. 👀

We do not need to medicalise normal existence quite this much.

Great article in worth checking it out if the advice has made you pause.

If advice feels counterintuitive…

Just pause and ask who is saying what… and why.

Everyone tries to complicate health advice.

The most effective things are simple.
Simple may not mean easy though because we get interference from…life.

But do the basics better and you won’t go far wrong.

Comment "BAD INFLUENCE" if you want the episode link sending to your DMs.

I loved this conversation, it reassuring to know that people not working directly in healthcare are concerned about some of the trends that are out there.

This is an important book.

Thank you for joining me for this.

Unacceptable.

Everyone knows there should be a wall between these 2 items.

Sausage
Toast
Chips
Hash browns

Any will work.

As if people in hospital don’t have enough to contend with.

If your “health plan” includes:

✨ Detoxes
🥗 Strict diet protocols
⏳ Fasting regimes
🦠 Gut cleanses

Just remember, none of this is strongly supported by evidence.
Feel free to do it if you like.
But don’t confuse anecdote with instruction.

Before anyone dives into the comments with cherry-picked studies - this is about real-world clinical care, not theoretical debates.

People who are sick need fuel, not internet hacks.

Thank you.

The book is The Good Life by Robert Waldinger & Mark Schulz if you’re interested.

Rather thought provoking while I gaze at the sheep 🐑 and cows 🐮

Cancer treatment doesn’t end when the appointments stop.

That’s when the real work starts —
and most people are given no plan.

This conversation with Sarah Newman is about that gap.
What happens to your body.
Why strength matters.
And how to rebuild without fear.

Comment GETMEBACK and I’ll send it to you.
