In this photo, only the LEFT side of the upper back was treated with massage.
The RIGHT side was left untouched, at the time, to show a comparison.
After treatment, the left side shows:
• Less inflammation
• Reduced visible swelling
• More relaxed muscle tone
Why this happens:
Targeted massage works by increasing local blood flow, which helps bring oxygen and nutrients to the tissue. Supporting lymphatic drainage, assisting the body in clearing excess fluid and metabolic waste. Reducing this muscular guarding allow tight or overworked muscles to relax. Inflammation and tension decrease, the tissue appears less congested and more defined, which is what you’re seeing on the treated side.
Key takeaway: Massage doesn’t “fix” the body — it supports the body’s natural recovery processes. When applied with intention, changes can be observed even within a single session.
This is especially relevant for:
• Overuse patterns
• Post-training recovery
• Desk-related tension
• Asymmetrical muscle load
