🔸Lateral shoulder mobility🔸
Lateral shoulder mobility is one of those things you don’t think about, until it starts limiting you.

Your shoulders aren’t just for pressing and pulling. They’re designed to move freely in multiple directions, especially out to the side (abduction). When that movement is restricted, your body starts to compensate and that’s where problems begin.

In day-to-day life, limited lateral mobility can make simple tasks like reaching overhead, grabbing something from a shelf, or even getting dressed feel stiff or uncomfortable. Over time, this can lead to tension in the neck and upper back as other muscles pick up the slack.

In the gym, restrictions can seriously impact your performance. Exercises like lateral raises, overhead presses, and even bench work rely on healthy shoulder mechanics. Poor mobility often leads to improper form, reduced strength output, and a higher risk of injury.

For sports, it’s even more critical. Whether you’re throwing, swimming, or lifting, your shoulders need to move efficiently and pain-free. Restrictions can decrease power, coordination, and overall athletic performance.

The takeaway? Don’t ignore your mobility. Improving lateral shoulder range isn’t just about flexibility, it’s about moving better, feeling stronger, and staying injury-free.

🔸Importance of Manual Therapy🔸
Sports therapy isn’t just for athletes chasing peak performance, it’s for every body, every lifestyle, and every profession. Whether you’re sitting at a desk all day, on your feet in a busy workplace, or juggling daily life demands, your body experiences stress, tension, and repetitive strain.

Manual therapy focuses on improving movement, reducing pain, and restoring balance within the body. Through hands-on techniques, it helps release tight muscles, improve circulation, and enhance joint mobility.

The result?

✅Better posture
✅Reduced discomfort,
✅A body that moves more efficiently

You don’t need to run marathons or hit the gym daily to benefit. In fact, many aches and pains come from everyday habits, for example, long hours sitting, poor posture, or repetitive tasks. Sports therapy addresses these issues at the root, helping prevent long-term injuries before they start.

Think of it as maintenance for your body, just like servicing a car. When your body moves well, you feel better, think clearer, and perform stronger in whatever you do, whether that’s in the office, at home, or on the field.

Investing in your body isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. No matter your industry or activity level, you deserve to move without pain and live without limitation.

Take care of your body, and it will take care of you.

🔸Preventing Injuries🔸
Conducting regular sports therapy helps prevent injuries by increasing blood flow to the muscles, stimulate nerve endings and break down scar tissue. It also encourages tissue healing by aiding to re-align damaged fibres, which ultimately improves muscular function. Regular sports therapy treatment enables you to train at a higher intensity level with greater safety. The “over-use injury” is the most common out of all sporting and non-sporting injuries and can be developed over days to years. The individual may not be aware of the problem until it reaches a critical level, resulting in a strain with fibres being torn causing excruciating pain and loss of range of motion.

𝐃𝐨:
▪️Immediately seek professional advice if there is persistent soreness or, sharp pain at the start/after training.
▪️Complete checkups on a regular basis with a “hands-on” therapist, to prevent and contain any major soft tissue damage from developing further.
▪️Adopt a carefully programmed warm-up, stretching and strengthening routine appropriate to the event.

𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭:
▪️Continue training or competing if there is ongoing discomfort or acute pains in any joint or muscle group.
▪️Attempt any stretching exercises that generate localised pain within muscle groups, tendons or attachment points.
▪️Undertake stretching or strengthening exercises without prior instruction from a suitably experienced trainer or therapist.

A good way to avoid serious injuries is to be consistent with sports therapy, as it is the most powerful tool for improving muscle elasticity and preventing injuries.

🔸Advanced Shoulder Release🔸
Who wants an advanced shoulder release? We treated a client who was complaining of severe shoulder restriction when doing everyday tasks and lifting in the gym. We looked at his posture, went through some range of motion tests, and identified why the shoulder was limited/painful, in comparison to the opposite side. Now you can see after releasing his entire shoulder, the difference between each arm.

Tight or overdeveloped anterior deltoid muscles (front of the shoulder) can restrict your shoulder’s range of motion, especially in overhead and rotational movements. When this muscle becomes shortened often due to poor posture or excessive pressing exercises, it pulls the shoulder forward, limiting mobility and increasing the risk of impingement or pain. This can make lifting, reaching, or even stretching uncomfortable. Incorporating mobility work, chest/shoulder stretches, and balancing your training with rear delt and back exercises can help restore proper movement.

Our treatments are very unique and results focused to meet YOUR needs. We love results but, most importantly, love helping our clients with their aches, pains and restricted ROM.

If you’re suffering with any tightness or pain, get in contact via DM, call or email and see what we can do for you! We don’t waste people’s time.

✅ Manual therapy is essential for recovery in combat sports due to the intense physical stress these athletes endure. Techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, and myofascial release help reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and speed up the healing of injuries like sprains, strains, and contusions. Regular manual therapy also enhances joint mobility and flexibility, allowing fighters to move more efficiently and prevent overuse injuries.

✅ Manual therapy also aids in reducing pain and inflammation, promoting quicker recovery between training sessions and competitions. Manual therapy supports neuromuscular balance and proprioception, which are crucial for maintaining coordination and preventing injury in high-contact situations.

✅ Beyond the physical benefits, manual therapy also contributes to mental recovery. It helps reduce stress and improve relaxation, which supports overall well-being and performance. As part of a well-rounded recovery strategy, manual therapy keeps combat athletes in optimal condition and ready to perform at their peak.
