Helping children / mum's to manage their anxiety / sleep / emotions / hormones / digestive issues th About Me & how I become a Reflexologist!!
The year before my daughter started school (now 7-years old) was a big turning point in my career, I just knew I did not want to go back to my job in teaching full-time and progress up the ladder. I did know I wanted to learn something new and that I loved supporting the students with their wellbeing, but what options were there? The idea of working for myself around my children was very appealing, having looked at various courses, I found the Level 5 Reflexology Practitioner course. Having had first-hand experience of reflexology, I was fully aware of its benefits. I genuinely believe reflexology not only played a huge part in supporting my mental health through a difficult period, it also re-balanced my hormones contributing to the conception of my daughter. Light bulb moment, this is what I want to do, it was a way I could continue to do the aspect of my job I loved by supporting others to enhance their wellbeing but in a different way! Within a week I had booked on to the course. It was a tough year studying, working part-time and looking after my family, but it was worth it!! On my last weekend of studying my husband and parents put together my log cabin so I was ready to start my own business and build-up ReFoxology! Once qualified I continued my 3-days teaching for a year while I built-up clients and tried to figure out how to run my own business. It was tough and I have learnt a lot, social media was definitely not my thing!! But one I am continuously learning about to use effectively for my business. I knew I wanted to support others with high levels of anxiety as I have seen the affects it has on teenagers so when the Functional Reflex Therapy (FRT) training course was advertised, I signed up and completed in Jan 2020. Since then, this has been my focus, this is what I want to be doing, supporting mums and their children who suffer daily from high levels of anxiety to provide them with practical tools to create a positive and calm home environment. In November 2020 I my mission to learn more how reflexology can support anxiety and have completed the Mindful reflexology course which was brilliant and not only gave me new techniques but to further understand the impact anxiety can have on physical and emotional wellbeing. In January 2021 I completed my Mental Health First Aider course, this has provided me with the confidence to talk to my clients about their mental health and be able to provide relevant information on where they can gain appropriate support. In December 2021 I have completed a Acupressure Facial Therapy to offer an additional treatment to my clients. During lockdown while I was unable to see my clients in person I continued to develop my business and mission to support mums and their children with anxiety by delivering virtual self-care workshops. Which I have continued to offer alongside with face-to-face workshops and my 1:1 treatments. If you would like to find out more about how reflexology can support you or your family I would love to hear from you. Many thanks
Nicola x

Woohoo, what a fab course ❤️
I would like to say congratulations to Nicola Fox https://www.facebook.com/refoxology, who is the latest reflexologist to successfully complete the Reflexology for Menopause advanced CPD training. This has given her additional knowledge and skills so she is able to support women through menopause.
I am so pleased she found the training helpful and this is what she had to say about the course - "The course was brilliant, very insightful. Sally is very knowledgeable which comes across online and in-person. It was great to have the Zoom tutorial and have a practice of the new techniques. I have really enjoyed learning the new routines to support menopause as I have a lot of clients who will benefit from this. I also found the lymphatic sequence to be a huge benefit to include for a lot of my clients. Thank you Sally, another fab course! "
Great to have some studies on reflexology and menopause ❤️
A randomised controlled study was conducted with 120 women looking at the effect of reflexology. RESULTS: The mean scores for hot flashes, sweats, and night sweats, were lower in the reflexology group. CONCLUSION: Results showed that reflexology may be effective in decreasing vasomotor problems (hot flushes and night sweats) and increasing quality of life in women in the menopausal period. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1744388116300433?via%3Dihub.

I have had 2 ladies have a baby in July. They were receiving fertility treatment but were also advised to have reflexology. It’s certainly been a journey for the new mums!
So love this ❤️❤️

⭐What are the signs and symptoms of Anxiety?
Anxiety feels different for everyone. Some might experience physical effects on their body whilst others might experience anxiety which affects their minds. The brain and body and closely interrelated such that feelings of fear and anxiety trigger the hypothalamus in the brain to stimulate the release of hormones in our bodies which, in turn produces the ‘fight-or-flight’ response, the physical symptoms.

Hi, I am Nicola, a fully qualified Level 5 Reflexology Practitioner. I am passionate about supporting children and adults to reduce high levels of stress and anxiety in a natural and holistic way.
Supporting others has always played an integral part in my career and one I find very rewarding. Until July 2018 I worked in Further Education, teaching and supporting the wellbeing of students. Although I loved my role, I needed a new direction, reflexology has provided me with the opportunity to continue to support mental health and wellbeing through a hands-on practical approach.
Having had first-hand experience of reflexology, I am fully aware of its benefits. I truly believe reflexology not only played a huge part in supporting my mental health through a difficult period, it re-balanced my hormones contributing to the conception of my daughter. Little did I know at the time, how these sessions would inspire me to retrain and embark on a new career to set up my own reflexology business: ReFoxology.
In addition to my reflexology training I have continued my personal development by completing the Functional Reflex Therapy (FRT) course designed and delivered by Lorraine Senior (accredited by the Association of Reflexologists (AoR)). The FRT framework uses the rainbow relaxation routine to support mental health and wellbeing of children and adults with high levels of stress and anxiety. As well as being incorporated into a reflexology treatment, parents/carers can learn the short, structured routine(s) through a practical workshop.
Why choose me?
I will:
Provide a safe and comforting environment.
Be here to listen.
Respect you for you.
Encourage self-reflection.
Build-up your trust.
Provide advice and practical skills to support yourself.
I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) and fully insured. As a full member of the AoR clients who have private healthcare may be able to claim for treatments through their policy. Please contact your private healthcare provider directly for further details.
Treatments take place in a warm and cosy log cabin based at the side of my house in Groby, North West Leicestershire and provides the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing treatment personalised for you and your goals. FRT workshops can be delivered in the cabin on a one-to-one basis or up to a maximum of 4 people.
If you would like to have an informal chat about how reflexology or the FRT workshops can work for you or your family, please send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you.
