A day in my physio home-visit world πŸš—πŸ’š

Driving around LE4, keeping bodies moving, rebuilding strength after surgery, supporting mobility, easing pain, and squeezing in a cereal bar between visits - this is the real side of community physiotherapy.

And honestly, I love my home visits.

The conversations I have with (mostly) elderly patients is such a special part of my work.

Every home, every story, every patient is different but the goal is always the same: keep people moving, confident, and living well in their own space.

Thank you to my lovely patients today, you make these days meaningful.

And yes… I finally got a lunch break at 3pm πŸ˜…πŸ”

πŸ§’ Meet Ibrahim, a brave 3-year-old whose journey is nothing short of a miracle. After a severe brain injury caused by a prolonged seizure and high temperature, he woke up a week later in ITUβ€”unable to sit, smile, or speak. He was diagnosed with developmental delay.

πŸ˜₯ His parents were scared and helpless. They had tried NHS physiotherapy and even travelled to India for help, but nothing seemed to give them hope.

β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή They put their trust in me. Through play-based physiotherapy and consistent home exercises, Ibrahim began to make progressβ€”step by step, session by session.

πŸ€— Months of determination and hard work later… he can now walk independently!

πŸ₯Ή The best moment for me was when his mum told me she finally got her smiling son back.. the best Eid gift she could have hoped for!

Stories like this are exactly why I love what I do.

✨ Falls Week ✨

Last week, during Falls Prevention Awareness Week, I had the privilege of delivering my 2nd falls prevention talk to 30+ wonderful ladies at their community group in the local library πŸ“šβ˜•. We chatted over chai. We shared an intimate, interactive and fun session. All the ladies participated in a chair-based exercise class at the end followed by a Q+A πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸͺ‘πŸ’ƒπŸ½.

It was extra special to deliver the session in fluent Gujarati, making the conversation more personal for everyone. Their engagement, warmth and laughter filled me with gratitude.

Falls prevention is so close to my heart ❀️ and if I can help even one person avoid a fall, it’s all worthwhile. I’m humbled to continue serving the community in every way I can 🌿.

Five years ago today, in the midst of uncertainty during COVID, I relocated my Physiotherapy clinic from Loughborough to Leicester - into my in-laws' home, thanks to their selfless support and generosity.

What felt like a temporary solution became a foundation for growth.

I’m endlessly grateful to Mum and Dad for opening their home and hearts to my work, allowing me to flourish in ways I never imagined.

Thank you to my whole family for believing in me, pushing me and giving me the space to keep doing what I love. Words cannot express my deep gratitude to you all πŸ₯ΉπŸ™

Pause. Reflect. Reconnect

It's and while I try to meditate as often as I can, I’ll admit it’s not always easy to find the time. But every time I do find just 10 or even 5-minutes, I’m reminded how powerful it isβ€”reducing stress, clearing the mind, and helping the body heal.

As a Physiotherapist, I often tell my patients, "Rest is part of the rehab." And meditation is one of the simplest ways to rest well. We also finish every Pilates class with a 5-minute meditation and mindfulness to bring peace and stillness from within.

Here’s me meditating on holiday recently in Mauritius. The sound of the ocean, birds, and gentle breeze was incredibly calming. Nature really does soothe the nervous system and quiet the mind!

πŸŽ—οΈThis week is a powerful reminder that looking after our mental health is just as important as caring for our physical bodies.

πŸ’ͺ🏻In every Pilates class I teach, I see the connection between movement and mindset - how a strong, mobile body can support a calm, focused mind.

✨As a Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, I’m passionate about helping people build physical strength and mental resilience. Whether we’re flowing through movement during the class, or lying in stillness to breathe and reflect during the meditation at the end, each moment is a step towards whole-body wellness.

β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉMindful movement done with the correct guidance is grounding, empowering, and healing. Let’s keep showing up for ourselves in body and mind.
