LCIL

All our work is underpinned by the social model of disability and as a user led organisation we are run and controlled by disabled people.

Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living organisation of disabled people for disabled people operating within the framework of the Social Model of Disability LCiL is a User Led Organisation based in Leicester city that works in innovative ways based on the social model of disability to support disabled people at a local, regional and national level to exercise choice and control for independent living. We positively promote equality in the workplace and in our services on the grounds of age, disability, s*x, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and s*xual orientation.

It saddens me to have to report that over night the centre has been subjected to a break in.

Thankfully nothing major appears to have been taken but we have had several window and doors smashed and they have trashed many of the rooms that are a vital support and lifeline to the community.

We are working with the police to find out who this was, and I urge you if anyone has any information to come forward.

We will be having an urgent meeting to discuss LCiLs future at the centre and these continued break ins may result in the closure of YOUR community centre.

We have got Leicester city police Westcotes team her and Victim first here, who would love to engage in conversations with you and see if there's support that they can offer to yourself or someone you know.

Our Connect Me Cafe is returning every Friday from tomorrow, come down and a a chat and a cuppa, light refreshments will be available to purchase every week. We are looking to have hot meals to purchase soon and will inform you when this will be returning.
