How can you estimate the date of your pregnancy ?🤰

🥀Pregnancy dating starts from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). By the time you miss your period—a few days late for a 28-day cycle—you are 4 weeks pregnant.

🥀🥀The first two weeks before ovulation are included in the pregnancy cycle calculation because this time accounts for the continuous, gradual process of endometrial thickening that occurs. The uterus begins this critical preparation before conception, providing the necessary environment for a gestational sac to form should implantation occur. This is the medical standard because the exact date of conception is almost always unknown, making the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP) the most reliable fixed starting point.

So, by the time you have an ultrasound, know that your EDD would be about 38–40 weeks counted from the first day of your LMP.

Just so we're clear: 36 weeks is not equal to 9 months! ✍️

👉First Trimester: Week 1 – Week 12+
👉Second Trimester: Week 13 – Week 27
👉Third Trimester: Week 28 – Week 40
