M O B I L I T Y D R I L L S

Want to improve your mobility in your hips & ankles, whilst strengthening your knees?

Give these a go!

Narrow stance squats (or feet together) can really support your knees & ankles, here’s how:

🤍 Stronger quads = better knee support: A narrow stance tends to increase quadriceps demand, which helps control knee extension and supports the kneecap’s tracking.

🤍 Better tendon capacity: Your patellar tendon, quadriceps tendon, cartilage, and surrounding connective tissues adapt to gradual loading.

Squatting with a narrow stance often increases forward knee travel, which increases load through the front of the knee.

🤍 More ankle and hip mobility demand: Feet-together squats require good ankle dorsiflexion (knees moving forward over the toes) and hip flexion.

💫 Use a yoga block or book (sorry book lovers) as a wedge underneath your heel to elevate it. Build up from here with your squat depth. Gradually reduce the height of the wedge and add weight too.

💫Pausing at the bottom of a squat can “bulletproof” the knees as this is where they’re most loaded.

It’s not about how you look in a pose, but how the pose feels within you - grounded, alive, and real.

Yoga belongs to every body, exactly as it is, because it’s less about shape and more about connection: to movement, to breath, and to yourself.
