Corn out. Pain gone. Patient practically waltzed out of clinic!

Corns can be so painful, especially when they dig in and press on nerves or bone. They usually pop up because of too much pressure or rubbing in one area.

Some common culprits:
• Shoes that don’t fit properly
• Toe deformities (like hammer toes)
• Bony bits sticking out
• The way you walk (gait)
• Less padding on the feet (especially as we get older)
• Repetitive movement or standing for long hours

The go-to treatment? Enucleation— carefully removing the corn with a scalpel.
Long-term solutions depend on what’s causing them—whether it’s footwear, gait, or something else.

Hi 🙋🏽‍♀️

I'm Jilna, a HCPC-registered podiatrist, and l've been helping people look after their foot health since graduating from the University of Northampton in 2018.

Over the years, l've worked in both the NHS and private sector, as well as in a multidisciplinary team at the Leicester Sports Clinic, gaining experience in a wide range of foot conditions.
My areas of interest include:
