For me personally, Make a Difference is the most important
Talking with someone
Holding our umbrella over someone to keep hm dry
Listening and understanding
Food is always good even if its simple
I was in a cafe once in Leicesters Haymarket Centre, quite a while ago, and there was a couple at the next table. I was with a good friend. I dont know what had happened but the young man picked up a glass of water and threw it over the young lady, then stormed out, leaving the young lady in shock and tears. I excused myself momentarily, grabbed a handful of serviettes and went and sat with her while she recovered a little. I never knew her name, but I like to think I made a difference.
This kind of thing has happened many times in my life in many different ways.
Compassion is simply love in action, doing something instead of doing nothing.
I like to think that if I could write my own gravestone I would want only two comments etched into it. ‘He was a good man’ and ‘he made a difference.’
